Left me stranded Several times

This service is supposed to be for convenience. Yet several times now they have left me stranded. The app doesn’t confirm a reservation without some error showing and then the reservation shows in your upcoming trips. But if their system doesn’t properly pull a pre-auth on your card, the system cancels your reservation without notice or email. I checked several times with my card provider and it’s definitely an app issue. So when i am already at the parking garage ready to go, I can’t get the car. When I try to book over the phone the rep can only reserve the car 1 hour later from booking it. They have NO WAY to override this. Even after inconveniencing me, they can’t get you into a car ASAP. Poor and terrible customer experience.

If you pick up the car on a Tuesday, to be charged only for a week you must deliver the car on Monday. But the app only offers you to deliver next Tuesday, which makes you debited for another 1 week. In other words, they basically oblige you to pay for two weeks and after 3 to 5 days to return only 6 per day (because the day they offer you to return after the first week is already discounted + 1 per day) And the best part is: THEY DO NOT RETURN MONEY. The money is credited to the account for a future reservation. That is, they charge more money without our authorization and refuse to give back, you can only use your money the way they want. after that I spent over a month with a Bolt for 290 / week. I did the renovation and to my surprise the price went up to 385 / week. I called the call center and what was said: "I can not do anything for you, I should have checked the value of the week in the renovation." I returned to the Maven Gig LA and the response was a laugh with "It's just the next week to return the car." So if after all this I wrote, you still want to be stolen by this company I just have something to say: you have the courage!

Maven just has horrible customer service. I do not recommend this car sharing service what so ever. Since my phone has changed a long time ago and can’t remember that specific number they are denying me access to my account l. Like it’s totally ridiculous. I’m done with these idiots.

Would like to rent a car through maven gig as it is one of the few ways I can rent a car from reading rental contracts and me not having a major credit card. Well the app won’t show anything available ever, and have been trying to add my card info for 2 weeks and keep getting a “server encountered an unexpected error” so I can’t even do that to verify my card will work.


Stranded without help

Took 30 minutes on phone to get the car unlocked at the beginning of the reservation. Then, wouldn't turn on once we got to our destination. On Star didnt work. They told us to leave the car. Was a $150 cab ride back and said they couldn't refund the rental. So horribly incompetent. Avoid

While I like the service and the idea of having a car at my fingertips when I need it, I find sometimes difficult to extend the duration when you need too. If I have the car for at least 1 more hour I should be able to extend it. This can really put you in a tough spot when you need it most so watch that reservation trap!!! Also the cars sometimes smell like alcohol and drugs like marijuana and crack cocaine inside so if you need to swap it out you they will get you a fresh vehicle or pay you back for your cleaning services. But at the end of the day, nothing’s more convenient and nothing’s ever perfect, except for the customer service, vehicle selection and my love and rating for Maven. Thank You GM


Raising rental costs, why???

Your raising my rental by another 137 when rates are really low??? Your gonna have a lot of unhappy drivers returning cars. Sorry, but you’ve lost my business & this is NOT the way to treat your loyal customers. And not the way to make way for electric vehicles, consumers have a choice regardless & forcing them with high prices is clearly going to leave a bad image.

Key mechanics are poorly executed

First, the car unlocking system. It’s at first very convenient to have your phone become the wireless key fob for the car. However, the key flaw is that each time you need to connect to the car you have to be able to have wireless service of some kind whether through cell data or WiFi. Often times available parking in LA (where I drove most) is either in a large concrete structure or in an underground structure. Both are examples of places with limited or no cell service. The result is that you are left stranded with a car you cannot unlock or start and a ticking clock to when your reservation might end. To their credit Maven does have a really great roadside assistance team, but even then you will have to wait 1+ hours and field many phone calls in order to be towed out. Second, is the way in which late returns are handled. Once the car is late, you will no longer have authorized connection to the vehicle and therefore be stranded wherever you are. What happens in this situation is that you have to call in to have them end the reservation for you, then you have to wait 30-45 minutes for the payment to process, then call them back in order to start a new reservation with which you can drive the car back. It’s a lose-lose situation in which you cannot get home and are charged $50 per hour (a fair enough fee) and they will be out of a car for a much longer time than necessary. I have been using Maven for over 2 years and having fairly good experiences, but in one day I was presented with so many problems that I will be doing everything in my power to not use this service again.
