Terrible company

I worked for them for 3 years and since I was permanently deactivated almost 2 years ago I still to this day go on regularly to write reviews as to remind and warn people to not sign up for this company. Years of work I put in while I maintained a rating around 4.9 to 4.8 and lyft has very little room for a bad rating considering 4.6 is risk of deactivation. Anyway my point is I was a good driver. I did thousands of rides for them and in the end was one day surprised by a message stating I was permanently deactivated due to ALLEGED violations of lyfts community terms of service. After emailing and calling for over a month to find out what I supposedly was accused of that was apparently so horrible and trying to get re activated I saw every email had been completely ignored out of the 30 I sent. I did however finally get thru to a supervisor on the phone who was as mean as they come and said I was accused of texting and driving which by the way I didn’t but anyway texting at driving and they now felt I was unfit to be a driver despite this being my only job. The rude woman then took a much more stern tone saying I’m a liability and that I will never drive for lyft again and told me to stop calling because it won’t happen. There was no proof given by the person who accused me nor was I given any chance to defend myself it’s simply just their word against yours and whether you’re lucky enough to have lyft believe you. I remain deactivated to this day.

You work hard and do your best for the customers but after lyft takes it’s cut of 25% plus other expenses from other parties. You’re left with about 55% of what you earned then you have to pay income tax which is double compared to non self employed workers so you’re left with a car with a ton of miles and additional wear and tear. You also have to pay for gas, Car wash, and expenses like new tires and lots of down time. At the end, my car was totaled while driving g with a passenger and lyft was not helpful with the insurance processing and deactivated my account because of the accident. They use you until you’re of no use to them anymore. Also they are constantly hiring new drivers and giving them more rides just to hook them at the expense of veteran drivers. After a while they take away bonuses when they know it’s your full time job and have no other choice but to drive for lyft. It’s a bad idea. Trust me. I now have an accident on my driving record and no car but lyft got paid so that’s all they care about


What’s going on with gps & sound?

For some reason, after the last 3 updates..the GPS has gotten considerably worse & now I can’t get my turn by turn through my Bluetooth ear piece. When saying “new rider added to que”, it blares out all my phone speakers, but all other sounds are quiet (as if my sound is only coming through the handset & won’t give any sound through Bluetooth at all). Please fix..I need to be able to hear when to turn so I don’t miss it during riders conversations.


Taxes are a NIGHTMARE

They seem to have put no effort into making their tax system easy to use. There’s not link to any other app to continue on turbo tax app or you browser. You end up at a dead end. They offer “free turbo tax” with $120 crossed out with no way to properly access it.


Lyft don’t care about their drivers

This app has many malfunctions and many loopholes drivers loose a lot of money and Lyft don’t care or show any concern they should give their drivers much more credit and take their word for it trips showman’s sense for everyone many trips don’t make any sense and you provide feedback to Lyft and nothing changes they should add a feature like Uber to let the driver know regardless the type of trip when a trip is 45min+ the driver maybe working around they they may had planed for a while like a doctors appointment or pick up their kids from school think about single parents and lift sends you a trip that 45Min+ with no notice and if you don’t take it counts against you and what do you do when you get to the clients house and you have them in the car and you have a long trip same thing when you drove all day and at the end of the night you get 1hr long trip

Sometimes the app is slow to load the navigation and I had a ride today where I made it to the pick up point and the rider ask me to cancel the trip and I did not receive a cancel fee even though I drove all the way to the pickup location and I’m sure enough time had elaspsed to warrant a cancellation fee. Also Lyft needs to add a long pickup fee as I get a lot of ride requests that are 15-20 minutes away and when you arrive it’s a 2 or 3 min trip. These trips cost drivers money in time and fuel. Lastly you need to have extended directions for the driver to look at before they start the trip as this will aid the driver in navigating the trip. We had them at one point but then they suddenly disappeared.

This is a horrible company that don’t care about the drivers. That pretend like they car and it all public relations for the media.They are worse they uber when it comes to how they treat drivers
