1Blocker has made my life so much simpler, I don’t ever worry about ads any more. It works great.

Money Greedy Devs

Google vs DuckDuckGo

Sites like phonearena.com and androidcentral.com stopped working after the new update. Ad rules reduced to 38k from 48k. Something fishy after the new App release. Do not pay for the new App.

Gotta admit

This blocker was regarded as one of the best, if not THE best to use on an iOS device. The boatload of useful features like HTTPS only were great. I stopped using several reputable blockers (Purify and ABP) because this was astoundingly better. In my opinion, it was well worth the $5. Now, understanding indie development, I know we all have to make ends meat but what the developer did here was pretty wrong and with no notice or warning of any kind. The developer should not be upset about these negative reviews and well understand everyone’s logical reasoning. It is by definition a “bait and switch” tactic this late in to the game what he did regarding the new 1BlockerX app. Also, it is apparent that Safari has caught up to many of these features and the blocking capabilities are starting to fail. I can not put full blame on the devs since Apple is not on their side but customers are tired of getting schemed and because of this, this developer and others like him have lost a lot of respect. I myself am moving on as well, as I do not trust this kind of behavior. To the dev, I hope you can change your business tactics one day, until then, I will also be using another option (AdGuard). -Chase Dizzie

1Blocker showing political bias?

IwantWeather

Ever since the recent update FoxNews won’t load. Never had this problem till now. 1Blocker is the only content blocker I use (that may change ). When I disable it the website loads just fine. With 1Blocker active I can get any other site to load, just not FoxNews. Kinda funny:/

Good, but I can no longer access Wikia!

Major pony fan.

After the new update, I find that I can no longer access ANY sites made with wikia, and it stays that “the url was blocked by a content blocker” or something like that. I can’t figure out what is causing it to be blocked, and whitelisting all of the Wikias I want to view gets tedious. The Adblock works perfectly though, I just want to view Wikia without whitelisting all of them (ps by wikia I mean fandom wikia like My Little Pony wikia... don’t judge...) Also, if you fix this, I’ll definitely give five stars

#1 Blocker!

golichi

Tried many other blockers, browsers, etc. to block what’s wrong and dangerous about the internet, and this app is the only one that worked. No longer do I have to switch to one of those kiddie browser that block everything, even the good stuff. This is perfect. Don’t know how you did it, but glad you did. Thanks!!

Ads

fivekan

This app shows ads for the developer's other apps, which is hypocritical and scummy. It shows a permanent popover that cannot be dismissed unless the user taps "Open" which launches Safari and takes the user to a Medium post. Shady, scummy BS! I wish I could give negative stars. Apple shouldn't allow this behavior.

Paid premium price for now “legacy” app

Leahy02116

Instead of updating an app that many users paid a premium price for, the developers have—in a blatant, shameless cash grab—opted to release the same app under a new name & now calls this app the “legacy” version. Moreover, they seem to have intentionally broken/limited the functionality of this app via an “update”, presumably to try to get users to purchase the new app. This app used to be excellent, but it’s clear now the developers are just cashing in on the years old great reviews the app has received from various media outlets at its users’ expense. I would’ve happily paid an extra buck here and there for updates (e.g. via a tip jar like some other apps offer) if they had just been honest/upfront with users and continued to provide such a great app, but unfortunately they’ve chosen to the exact opposite by completely snubbing current paid users and rushing out a “new” app that’s not even as functional as this now “legacy” version. Don’t enable this shady behavior. Do not buy this app, do not buy the new app—take your business elsewhere.

Worked great until they released 1Blocker X

SoperrepoS

1BLOCKER has been my one and only ad blocker on iOS for a while now. Worked great until the last update, now I’m seeing ads all over the web. It feels like they crippled this version to push users towards the new 1Blocker X app. If they needed to charge for some sort of update or add on I would’ve been fine with it, but moving to a new app for another $5 just make me want to look at ALL of my options...
