DO NOT UPDATE!

AriaLHM

DO NOT UPDATE to Version 1.4.5+. According to mitorez, the version dropped almost 10K rules. Most likely this is another shady attempt by the developers to force you into buying their new version. DO NOT buy the in-app purchase or buy their new app! They claim this is "The one blocker you'll ever need", at least until they want more funding and create the same app, with a new name, and supposedly more rules, as a paid app. They will not support the old app, in hopes to force you to buy this new app. When they need more money, they'll repeat this process with another newly named app. AVOID!!! I would recommend using Firefox Focus (it is available as a Safari Content Blocker after download) or AdGuard as Safari ad/tracker blockers, instead, or in addition to this app, and avoid paying these dishonest developers, again. We all know Firefox is a real company that will continue to support their products. Support the non-profit, rather than the greedy nickel and dimer! Just look at some of the real reviews for the new app, that aren't the developers' friends and family: "...a but slow when opening and making a settings change." "App doesn't even block pop up ads right! Seriously, pop up ads still bother by opening in different tabs. That's so annoying. And try to reply to users more often." "A bit slower than 1Blocker legacy." "Can't open in settings. The app shows up in safari settings but the buttons won't toggle to open. So it's installed but basically useless." "Crashing still not fixed. As others mentioned, the device freezes and crashes when opened. This is after the devices' 'crash' update." "All in all, seems like this app took 2 steps back...Why are you removing features that made 1Blocker so appealing?" "Doesn't work. At all. Beware. I get the welcome screen. Then the screen with instructions on going into settings, safari, content blockers. This is where you're supposed to turn on the ad blockers. Unfortunately, all of the sliders are disabled. I've loaded the app on iPad and two iPhones, all running iOS 11.3 with the same results. The app will not work unless the ad blockers are enabled and there is no way to enable them." "Needs work, needs another option, besides Twitter, to contact... For me, the X app is blocking access to normal websites. It is also blocking the search function on some of the websites I can access. Because of this I turned this off and reinstalled the Legacy version." "Slow when opening, UX issues." "Safari is processing rules.... Do anything in the app and "safari is processing rules" loading spinner appears. Makes using the app slow and cumbersome." "No major difference. Assuming you don't need custom rules, my tests show there isn't any difference between this one and the legacy app. I wish they offered more honest details about what is truly different about this app since their marketing leads you to believe that this version blocks more ads. That doesn't seem to be true in the United States at least. And 'completely new redesign' is a massive exaggeration. That's true of the icon but little else. Happy to pay a subscription but now these guys lost my trust." "Want to block AdChoices? 1Blocker FAILS! Don't waste your money like I did." "Can't open in settings. The app shows up in safari settings but the buttons won't toggle to open. So it's installed but basically useless. It would be nice if the developers addressed this issue or at least mentioned how to fix it somewhere in the literature. It would be better if they actually responded to customer inquiries." Do not fall for their sob story! They could have easily updated the app, and offered a discounted in-app purchase to unlock new features for the people that have supported and recommended their app. You know, the customers that should be the lifeblood of the company. They could have not misrepresented their product to those that recently upgraded. They could not have a banner trying to sell their new app. Yes, this is called an advertisement...in their ad blocking app. Talk about ironic! And they added this ad, while providing a misrepresentative description of the updates. This should tell you everything you need to know about these developers.

Fair…I can’t know how much tracking is blocked, if any

fjpoblam

I cannot help but deduce that there is a failure in 1Blocker’s blocking of trackers. NO improvement over when 1Blocker was NOT installed. My default search on both iPhone and iPad is duckduckgo. I have 1Blocker “Legacy” set up to block tracking. My email is via Gmail. I regularly purge ALL of Trash, Spam, Inbox, and Sent. I often clear browser data. Safari settings include “Ask websites not to track me” and “Warn me of fraudulent websites” (which I always obey). So there. Yet still, when I search on a topic in duckduckgo, magically within a few hours, I begin seeing emails (most often Spam thanks to Gmail) on the topic of my search. Of course, I never open them, just glance at the title. So, praytell, what good is 1Blocker for blocking tracking?

Don’t purchase

J-stin

Don’t purchase this app. After the developer released their new version, the legacy version has been crippled and it’s obvious that they’re forcing legacy users to upgrade at full price. Someone good will would have been nice instead of forcing legacy users to upgrade at full price.

Blocks far too many legitimate sites

Ned Scott

This used to be a great content blocker, but now the default lists are blocking huge chunks of the internet. Just today I had to specifically whitelist all of Wikia and Merriam-Webster. Meanwhile, it fails to block ads that used to be correctly blocked. I'm done with this.

Some lag issues

Abard124

Usually this app works fantastically. It blocks ads not just in your internet browser but also in your apps. You can use even the most shameless of apps and not even realize that they have ads. When it’s working, it deserves 5, 6, 10 stars. The reason I gave four stars is that occasionally you have to turn it off, as with any ad blocker, but even after you turn it back on, it does not block most ads for the next few days, which is really annoying if you’ve spent the past several months without seeing any ads due to this app.

“Updated” to a new app

Annoying review notification

Don’t trust this company. Rather than updating this app they decided to release a new one and charge $4.99, again. How long until they release another new version and want more money? If you want a subscription app sell a subscription app but don’t play games by releasing new apps that do the same thing. Total garbage.

Great app but...

Cashbass

It doesn’t seem to block ads. I have everything enabled in the app, I’ve downloaded the most recent version, enabled it in Settings, but man this app lets a huge amount of ads populate. Certain tech websites still remain completely littered with ads. And I’ve got the PAID version. This used to be pretty decent but its all but stopped working now. I guess that’s to push people to buy the new, separate app. For more $. No thank you.

Premium is awesome

Great deal for premium

No Longer Blocks Ads

Ptkdude

Im a premium User for several years, and this app no longer blocks any ads. Don’t expect me to pay you again for another app when you’ve intentionally disabled this one.
