1Blocker is is almost perfect

mat7h3w

1Blocker is almost perfect, and the inclusion of https is a nice addition. Unfortunately, and this is Apple’s fault, not 1Blocker’s fault. Apple still refuses to allow hosts file access, unless you are jail broken. It is truly sad. 1Blocker should be able to block ads on all browsers, not just Safari. It should be able to do the same for ads inside apps and games. If anyone wants blame to go anywhere, it is with Apple, not the developer. It both saddens me, and sickens me, that the company that used to stand for something good, and respectable. Now, much like many of the devs on the App Store, would prefer to sell our private user data, like we are a side of beef at a cattle auction. Google is just as guilty as Apple is. However, despite the sheer amount of trash on the Google Play Store, at least Google makes rooting is. I highly suggest if you are on a jailed device.

Does not block social share widgets

george cassello

I paid the 4.99 to access all blocking options. You can only choose one with the free version. I toggled on all blockers but every site I went to continued to show all the social sharing widgets. I started sending feedback but lost hope when they were on every site I visited.

Great app. Almost perfect

Sundude_99

Great app. Cleans out much of the crap. I hope they update/add more Facebook functionality soon as I’m bombarded with adverts for companies I have no interest in or are 300-600 miles away...

Stop obsessing;you’ve found it.

Anynomomous

These guys have brought safety and control to an art form, and once you set it up (with more well thought out variables than any competitor) it runs in the background with a reliability you will only check to make sure it hasn’t disappeared. Best of all it syncs on all platforms (mbook, ipad ,iphone) and doesn’t interfere with serious virus and malware protection software. Do it. You will not be writing one of those regret/warning reviews about this one.

Good Functionality, Bad UI

Bobjtx

Features are nice, but with the latest update the user interface uses unreadable colors. E.g., Dark purple lettering on a black background. Not sure what happened to UI testing in app development in the last few years, but many developers do a very poor job with UI design. In order for users to see text or buttons on screen, there needs to be CONTRAST. Low contrast fonts (dark fonts on dark backgrounds or light fonts on light background) are a terrible disservice to your users. Please fix!

Still getting ads

Cailise

It worked great for quite a while, enough that I paid for premium. In the last couple weeks it’s given up and I’m now seeing ads again. I guess I’m giving up too.

Best FREE Adblocker, period.

fflaguna

You get to enable the largest list of Adblock URLs for free, with no nagging, no ads, no interruptions, nothing. Again, for free we the full Adblock list of 40,546 rules with NO strings attached. There are many extra toggle-able features that are optional and generally useful only fig you have a specific purpose for them. For $5, they all get unlocked. No price-gouging or exploitative tiers of “special deal!” packages. This filter obviously only works in Safari, due to the Apple/iOS “walled garden” policy crap, but within Safari it works perfectly. It’s clear from the author’s design choices that he’s ungreedy and not in this for a lazy cash grab. That was enough to make me sit down and add this positive review to the list.

Does NOT Work

DeeVa27

(11.12.17) Blocks NOTHING - 100% of ads still show up.

The best blocker

theBoxHead

Works great, makes browsing Safari faster and more enjoyable. Highly customizable yet easy to use. This is the one to get.
