Please fix this app

I’ve read LATimes for decades and have great appreciation for the paper. This ver of the app has trouble scrolling-requiring closing the app then reopening. Just reading a paper shouldn’t be this frustrating!

False advertising

AGM USA

I downloaded this app with the intention of subscribing to the $4.99 News App Only shown in the In-App purchases. The app itself only offers the $15.99 subscription, which is more than I’m willing to pay. I have had several email exchanges with the Times, they have repeatedly told me in writing I must contact the Apple App Store to make this purchase, which is obviously wrong. As it stands now, the In-App purchases shown here are false advertising, a bait-and-switch from $4.99 to $15.99.

I’ve read latimes for 30 years. It used to be a good paper now it’s trash. They are completely anti trump, anti republican. You have to second guess everything they read. Their financial guy loves the printing press and pushes liberal ideas that hurt workers. No wonder latimes keeps cutting stuff. It’s a shell of its former self.

Very slow and unresponsive

mikeconstantin

8 out of 10 times does not an article when tapped, on iPhone. Can only read by magnifying the page. Even when it opens sometimes it takes 30sec or more of watching the spinner.

Great ePaper

I had ignored the eNewspaper access that comes with my Sunday physical-paper subscription until recently, and now I am really enjoying the “eNewspaper” part of this app for the daily paper. Layout is exactly like the print edition, and navigation, pinch zoom and scrolling work perfectly my on my iPad. I think it’s a great port of the old-school medium into the new-school world!

Scroll down page problems finally fixed!

Dog Ranger

A mid-September 2020 update fixed the problem again. I hope it stays fixed this time after being broken for many months. Now it’s a good read again. _______________ They fixed this before but this time it is back and has gone on for months. After reading an article, then closing it the lower part of the pace becomes unavailable. To get to that part of the page you have to go through at least two other pages-and back-or tilt the iPad horizontal and back to vertical. This is beyond annoying and has nothing to do with the content of the newspaper.

Poor execution

AmpersandPitchfork

The ‘home’ screens and tabs leave out a significant number of articles and keep very old articles up for a long time. The enewspaper screen displays all articles like a traditional paper, but why not present them nicely categorized on the home screen? Rework the home screen! Just copy The NY Times! On coverage: Needs more local government coverage. City council, board of supervisors, etc.

Freezes constantly

hosayif

About every other time I use this app I have to force quit and reload it because it has frozen
