Best running app

Nes5883

I've used this, runkeeper, mapmyrun, and others - I always come back to this one. Simple, quick start, always reliable GPS, and it has never crashed and lost a workout (all the others have). Plus this app writes your runs directly to the other apps, just the same as if you had used those apps to track the run (so they count for challenges and all the data is accessible). Use this app.

Good app

Used it for years. Like the equipment tracking features, along with weather conditions and the music stuff, since I always run with music going. Exports to other apps that I use. Nice!

Love it for monitoring my walks and runs

I am not a young person, but want to remain active as long as I can. I bought this to use for interval coaching as I trained for my first 5K in YEARS and have used it ever since. Now, primarily I use it to monitor my heart rate as I run (keeping it in a treasonable range) and recently to coach me during walks to keep my pace up. Additional benefit with the Apple Watch - seamless monitoring and info on the watch as I run. Don't have to hold my phone anymore, can stow it in a pocket.

Best running app I've tried!

AltEd4360

Accurate and easy to use. Everything that I need in a running app.

Simply Awesome

Everything I need for tracking my runs in one app!

Like shoving a personal trainer in your shorts.

Update: 4ish years later, and this is still 5 stars and still the only running app I use. I wish there was an active fitness level rating similar to the VO2 that the Jabra app gives you. Otherwise, can't think of a thing I'd change! Best running app on the iPhone hands down - cadence coaching, user laps (!!), shoe mileage, Pebble integration (with a full-on custom Pebble app, so you can trigger laps, pause, and show multiple pages of the huge amount of info iSR knows!), weather/fastest song/more recorded each workout, ghost runs, extreme interval editing, great graphing and calendar view, smart switching betw gps and accelerometer when gps coverage drops, uploading to RunKeeper, MapMy, email, and even up/download backups via Dropbox... Awesome sauce. Bottom line: best running app on the iPhone. Period.

Best running app I've used!

I'll admit, I haven't tried them all, but I have used a half a dozen of the most popular running apps and none of them are as good as iSmoothRun.

Great app

Weather awesome

Great for custom intervals. Love this app!

Great and reliable

Even works where you don't have cell coverage.

Just what I was looking for!

This is just what I was looking for to connect my Pebble Time Steel with Strava, so I can stop/start my run from the watch instead of taking my phone out of the arm strap. It will be especially helpful in cold weather with gloves. I had to remove one star because it seems to be finicky upon first starting the run. I have to press the button twice, which then pauses so I have to press it one more time to resume.
