This could be the Garmin killer app

rubpic

I saw the star ratings and read the reviews then purchased the app without a flinch. Eager to leave my garmin at home and use my Apple Watch Series 3 LTE for workouts. The main feature combination that I want to use doesn’t work: (Custom Workouts using Heart Rate Zones). This feature is documented to work but has never worked for me. Is this a known issue? Will this issue be solved in a future update? I’ve tried many many times to get the iSmoothRun app on my Apple Watch to use the watch’s heart rate monitor and it never works. I have given all health permissions and still. I want to leave my garmin and phone at home. I reached out to support via email and haven’t received a response.

Best interval app for Apple Watch by far

Clhoover

Finally an app that makes it easy to create interval and fartlek workouts of any type and have them available on Apple Watch without the iPhone. Combine that with ability to export Gpx files for use elsewhere and this is definitely the best of the many running training apps I’ve tried.

Amazing app. So worth the price

Chris Europe 272728

Super helpful settings so you can change when and how often you are updated on progress of the run

Can’t automatically end workout

Andreas Yankopolus

The app can’t be programmed to automatically finish a workout after reaching the goal distance. It keeps going until you manually stop recording. So your 10k run will come out at 10.02k or whatever.

Way better than Nike!

Nancy Fries

I switched to iSmooth Run after the Nike Run app spontaneously stopped on me several times during my long runs. Overall I am significantly happier with the reliability of iSmooth Run and find it easy to use. My biggest complaint is with the auto pause. It takes too long to pause and then if I am not perfectly still it resumes. Would be nice to be able to set it to pause at a certain speed and restart at a certain speed. Love being able to upload workouts to Garmin connect. Love weekly logs. Overall meeting my needs.

If you make your own training plans this is the app to use

machitect

I couldn’t find anything else that could replace it. Frankly, this is one of the reasons why I’m staying with Apple, because of this app and the Apple Watch. If iSmoothRun were to be available in the google play store there’s a big chance I’d probably switch over.

Annoying bug

Juan Suarez O

Unable to configure correctly a interval workout. Unsuccessful trying to configure a 300 mts. X 12 with 45 seconds rest between reps and with 15 minutes of warm-up and cool down. The app keeps on changing the set parameters. Also unable to contact ismoothrun.

Audio music and voice stops

Runnerwalker10kmore

I bought this for the walk run intervals. The first two times I used it it worked fine. The next time I stopped the app and when I went back in I couldn’t get any voice or music audio. I couldn’t even get the music from phone to play when app was not active. Disappointed in the glitch.

Where are the intervals/workouts?

freskodollar

I was expecting this to have some premade routines. It's empty. You have to make your own. It would be great if there was a collection of workouts to download.

Best workout tracking app bar none

EddyGeez!

I’ve been using iSmoothRun for years and it continues to be the best workout tracking app... ESPECIALLY if you want to own your data and NOT be dependent on third-party services... but you can export to ALL of those too... even at the same time! Props to the devs. Love all the sensor support too!
