Needs to change algorithm.

Instagram has been my favorite app since 2012, but this year has by far been the worst it’s ever been in terms of how everything works. The main issue being the change of algorithm, no one wants or likes it - plus it’s awful for artists, photographers, businesses, etc. to get their name(s) out there and create a fanbase, community, and so on. When someone opens Instagram, it should automatically be Most Recent posts. This isn’t just about me, this is for everyone. Really not sure why this terrible algorithm has remained a thing when there were even petitions to keep it how it was originally. It’s truly ruined the app entirely.

Instagram is the one of the best social media apps of this time. It gives kids a way to connect with others no matter where they are around the earth. Although there are many risks of letting your child have social media. Like most social media apps, instagram give you an option to block and report users that are inappropriate and creepy. Instagram helps me to keep up on current events that are happening all around the world right now. This app also allows me to connect with cousins that live in different states and friends who live in distant locations. I have made many friends over Instagram, who I am still friends with today. Instagram has made me see social media in a whole new way. -Lauren
New explore page

Personally I love the app but the new explore page thing pisses me off let us look through our explore pages in peace!!!

i think the suggested post on my feed is a bit ridiculous; that’s what the explore page is for. if i want to see posts from people i’m not following that’s where i’ll go. also, why can’t i add another account anymore? are we not able to do this anymore? why change things that aren’t broken. the app used to be fine.

Algorithmic feed needs removed

One star until you listen to your user base and get rid of the timeline algorithm and stop directly copying other apps. YOU ARE NOT SNAPCHAT. YOU ARE NOT FACEBOOK. STOP TRYING TO BE AND GO BACK TO WHAT YOU WERE. Also, any time I get a notification that someone has liked or commented on one of my posts or has started following me, every single other notification disappears. I had to turn on post notifications for many of my friends so I'd actually get to SEE their posts (since you destroyed the timeline with what YOU think I want to see), and losing those notifications just by opening the app totally defeats the purpose. I can learn to deal with the horrendous logo change, but the algorithmic feed has driven me away from using the app. I miss so many posts from most of the accounts I follow, and don't want to turn on notifications for 1000+ accounts. I only use the app to view friends' and family members' posts whose notifications were already on prior to the ridiculous update. I very rarely even look at my feed anymore, let alone interact with it. The algorithm rendered the app completely useless to me. I would probably start using it again if at the very least an option to revert back to chronological order was offered. Your app gets worse and worse with every update.
