I paid for the full classroom version about 3years ago. It stopped working so I updated the app. But lost everything. I didn’t keep the AppStore receipt. Very disappointed. The package was not cheap.

This app has a lot a problems, and a few glitches and outright errors here and there, but we used it for the better part of a year with our son and, well, it worked very well. He’s 5 years old and reads somewhere between a 2nd and 3rd grade level. The app is very expensive but there is an awful lot of material that it offers. It’s very simple and repetitive but, if anything, that’s probably a large part of why its so useful. The animations are very nice as well....and I have to admit the songs about letters between lessons were catchy. If you homeschool or are supplementing for your kindergarten / pre-school age children then I recommend this very flawed, yet effective piece of software.

The app is over all great. My daughter has shown great progress so far. Songs we catchy and she loves the interaction part. The problem is every time she goes into the app it starts her all over and i have to put in the reader again.

I had the old app that was really expensive. Now I can’t download that one and I have to have a subscription?!

The app is not saving the completed levels. It is frustrating to have her repeat lessons just to move on. Thanks for your response but I have tried that. It did not work.

App doesn’t connect to account. Doesn’t reliably download with out crashing. Easy enough to cancel subscription though.

No sound. Tried everything possible!

I’ve downloaded this app several times and tried everything possible and no matter what there is no sound. I have downloaded it both on an iPhone and an iPad, using multiple WiFi sources, making sure no other apps were open, continuously checking that volume was up..... I really wanted to try this out with my kids, but I guess I can’t because there’s nothing left for me to try to make this app work!

Great content - minor issues

I previously wrote a review about my issues with purchasing a hooked on phonics subscription via iTunes and not being able to register or use my subscription. The hooked on phonics technical support team was very helpful - they were able to sort out the problems, reset my password, and now everything seems to be working just fine. The app still seems to have minor glitches (mostly stemming from the fact that it appears to be a web app in a wrapper), but the content is very good. I recommend it for anyone helping teach their children how to read.
