Classic Mary Monroe

Dstconnected

Classic Mary Monroe… this one was okay but not in my top 10 of her books. It’s enjoyable. There is drama, mayhem, and more. Deception is the root of this book. These characters have no limits to there evil intentions and craziness!

All the tools are there to find things to read, know something about it before you read it, share with friends, keep contact with literary and even with the authors. From scanning a book cover to tracking and motivating personal progress it is we developed.

Every reader needs this App

Alyssa80p

It connects to Amazon so you only have to rate Book once and it shows up in both places. You get recommendations based on your likes, you can view lists of books based on genres and themes, you can see top rated books by the community for each year and every Jan you get a summary of the books you read that year. I love love love this app.

Writing reviews is maddening

PaperPurger

Good reads is a great concept—a way to keep track of your reads and want-to reads, combined with a bit of social networking to see what your friends are reading. But the process of writing reviews is maddening! More than once, I’ve spent a good deal of time writing reviews only to have them disappear, suddenly mid composition, due to a miss-hit on my tablet screen. They are not saved as a draft, anywhere. This has happened to me several times. Also, less important, it is difficult to add images or special formatting to reviews. Fix that, goodreads, and you have yourself a 5 star product.

please add more!

i am already fan of good reads since then before social media hits, as much i like the idea of simplicity , as one of your fan please update the app not only bug fixes but add more feature for easy access.

Dark mode, SSL Error Fix, UI

roscomcmillan

A handy app, but a couple requests after using for a couple years: - This is one of my only apps that doesn’t have a dark mode. I’ve opened goodreads many times only to close it quickly because it’s somewhat painful to use at night. This goes for the website as well. It’s blinding and not something I ever use at night. Please get over your brand recognition or whatever is holding you back from creating a dark mode. - Goodreads seems to require a faster/better connection than most apps. The homepage often takes a very long time to load. When I search for a book while on a slower public connection, I often get a pop up notification that says “Unexpected Error. An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.” That’s fine, but the message pops up many times, making it impossible to exit without clicking “Ok” often over twenty times. I usually have to force quit the app and try again. This has been an issue for years. - Users should have more control of their main feed. “Mute” users. Mark “See less often” or “Not interested” in Goodreads suggestions because I have read a similar book. Be able to mute certain types of notifications, likes a user’s reading progress in a book, when they have added a new friend, etc. - Users should have more control of the notifications they send out, and much more control from mobile. If a user doesn’t want to send notifications to their friend’s feeds every time they add a friend, make a bookshelf, or mark a book as “want to read”, they should be able to silence those updates from going public. Some users may not want to spam their friend’s feeds just because they found many books they might read in the future. For notifications that do go public, users should be able to manage them from mobile, which they currently cannot. Also, personal book reviews seem to go public on friend’s feeds whether you mark them to do so or not. It’s a great platform, but goodreads (and the Kindle UI) seems a little outdated and like they are not at all a priority for those who oversee them. They could be so much better with a little effort.

Needs Some Improvements

GS0892

I like the app overall, but I really wish it would include a few things. I tend to listen to audiobooks, so when I switch it to that version and want to update my progress, I can’t input the time I have left listening to the book. It only allows me to input the percent or page/s I've read. I’d also like to see a bookshelf design, like a library, as opposed to a plain, white background. Besides these minor details, I enjoy the app.

Good platform but could be much better.

FenFamWill

If Amazon would just drop a small fraction of its programming budget on this platform, it would be so much better and draw more people to Kindle and Amazon Books. But alas, Amazon doesn’t see the need. There is little to no competition for this niche. Therefore Amazon doesn’t need to and this app wallows a decade behind in technology.

App for Readers

Lsw1953

As a big reader, I love Goodreads. It helps me keep track of what I want to read so I always have my next read planned. Plus the recommendations from friends, it’s indispensable. Easily my favorite app.
