Great app for book lovers but...

It is so hard to find and add friends. I also wished there was a way to keep track of who recommended a book. Otherwise great way to keep track of books you’ve read.

I LOVE GOODREADS. Goodreads has brought a lot of great things into my life. Why, you ask, did I rate it one star? Because the APP IS SO SLOW. It cannot load, it randomly glitches, and it’s hard to work with.
The slowest buggiest app ever

I mean I get they’re still developing it and making improvements. But it’s still so buggy. But there’s nothing better so here we are shruggy This is the slowest app I’ve on my phone by a long shot. The notifications are a huge mess, you have to click on notifications several times before they disappear and it takes forever for notifications to load. Whatever they’re doing with that right now, it’s not working. This is a classic example of “its good enough”. Amazon doesn’t see Goodreads as a priority, but there’s nothing like Goodreads out there so we’re just stuck with it.

A few years ago I toyed with the idea of building a spreadsheet to keep up with my reading. A friend suggested Goodreads. Wow. just what I wanted and more. Want To Read, Currently Reading and Read are very useful categories. I like the suggestions and I like being able to track my progress on a book and leave my own review which is helpful to me to remember what I have covered. Lastly, I am amazed at the coverage of the App. I read a book written in the 1950s and it was already reviewed in the App. Very useful tool.

I love Goodreads! I love the concept of social media revolving around books. Love the integration with my Amazon account and Kindle. Love the ability to save quotes on my Kindle straight to my Goodreads account. It’s all genius! I do think the app could use a little work. It’s usually a little slow to load when switching between tabs, and some features are kind of difficult to find. It took me forever to figure out how to recommend books to friends through the app. Sometimes I have a red notification on my home screen that won’t go away even when there are no new notifications inside the app. I do remember finding bugs in the app in previous years and reporting them to support; I remember that their response was very quick, and they fixed the issue right away. 4.5 stars from me!
Please sync email better with app

I want to see the content suggested by email in the app but when I click a link, it takes me to Goodreads login ...even when the app is already open on my phone. These should be better synced. The platform itself is just terrific, very helpful in tracking my reading and want to reads.
Great except missing some key web functionality

I love the goodreads app and spend more time on it finding new books and reading other reviews than I care to admit, but the only thing I don’t like is that there is no easy way (that I can figure out, at least) to get to the Giveaways section like you can if you were on the non-mobile web browser version of the site. If that web functionality was offered or made more easy to access, it would get 5 stars from me in a heartbeat
