I really like this app!

App has been made simple with just the right amount of features. Like bookmarking pages, best palm tracking I’ve ever seen when using Apple Pencil and thumbnail pages. Really glad I bought it and can’t think of anything I’d change. If you’re looking to replace an actual notebook, this is perfect in my opinion. Get it. Update: I’ll still keep my ranting as 5 stars, but it’d be nice to have just one additional pen color that you can have at the top. So you don’t have to select the pen, chose another color, tap the screen and then write every time you want a different color. I get the clutter free interface but just having 2 pens to instantly select with different colors would help.

Great for college

I basically use this app for all of my note taking and homework, and I honestly think my professors are more obsessed with it than I am. Continuing on that line, I would love it if the next update could include an isometric (triangle) paper in the style of the graph paper template. I can’t find one that good to use as a custom template that where the lines still allow me to write horizontally, and as I’m about to take organic chemistry, it would be incredibly helpful.

What happened

Update: it was my fault. I went a little overboard with the highlighter. Tip...don’t layer your highlighting. The app is great again! The app was perfect for so long!! Lately my notes are taking forever to load and they’ll go blurry. I emailed screenshots of the issuers the support team, but never heard back ?

Fantastic app!

This the best app that I ever used.

I don't write reviews. Good notes is outstanding.

This is game changing technology. All of my paper is on one place - oh wait, no - it's in every place. I work on my Mac, I draw and take notes on my iPad and I can reference from my phone. Thank you. Five stars!

Love it!

GoodNotes allows me to be organized and creative. I love this app.

Not as functional as I’d like it to be.

My issues with this app are as follows: —No option to dictate voice to text —No option to export to printer ***with*** page formatting. For example, I would like the option to print multiple pages in a note book as if it were a word document. Ideally, I’m looking for a program which allows me to input text via Apple Pencil (and then converts my handwriting to text), dictation of my voice (also converts to text via transcription), and typing. Then, I want the program to allow me to format the note, letter, whatever I’m typing, as if it were a document in a word processor. Finally, I’d love to see a print preview, and then print selected pages. The app does pick up Apple Pencil and convert handwriting to text. But, the lack of utility (as outlined above) does not make this interface ‘one stop shopping’ for me. I find that I have to copy and paste all of my converted (from handwriting) text into Pages in order to dictate or format the margins, etc. My handwriting is not the best or the worst. The convert to text option is not very accurate—-gets about 90% correct. When my handwriting is converted to text, it is done in a way where my own punctuation is not recognized. For example, if I write, using the Apple Pencil the following: This is my first class of the day. We are reading chapters 1-4 this week. I expect this to be converted to, “This is my first class of the day. We are reading chapters 1-4 this week.” Instead I get, “This is my first class Of the day. We are reading Chapters 1-4 this week.” This makes it really time consuming (between these issues and needing to copy and paste the converted text into Pages in order to properly format and print a report) to use this program. IMO, this needs to be addressed as well. I’d also like an option to be DONE with the notebook options. Just let me create ***documents***. Thank you for listening to my feedback. Overall, I score this app as 2 stars.

At First I Loved This App…Then it Kept Losing My Notes

HowMuchisit-Over9000

I’ve been using this app everyday on my iPad Pro for months. It became my routine. THEN, once the IOS updates came, I started losing pages. I fixed it once by restoring from iTunes (like the help page told me to). The next time an update happened, restoring from iTunes didn’t work, so, in order to recover WEEKS worth of work, I did a full reset and restored from an iCloud backup. Lucky! Then I made sure it wouldn’t happen again by syncing with my dropbox. Today, I open the app, it crashes, and I lose a whole weeks worth of notes. The last sync was apparently that long ago, so it’s all gone again. No iCloud, iTunes, or Dropbox to rely on. I can’t trust this notes app anymore not to lose all my work and ideas. I’m so upset and frustrated over it. The money spent on the app isn’t even the issue. The trust is gone.

Spontaneously crashes after a while

I really like this app. I use it for note taking my masters level courses...but what I do not love is the spontaneous closing it does when it’s been open for a while. It typically does this when I am moving to a new/fresh page of notes. It will spontaneously close, often times erasing the last few things I wrote. This is a little infuriating when this happens, and I have no idea why it does. Otherwise, this app accomplishes everything I need. A fix for this bug would be great!

Nearly perfect, But just a few considerations

I absolutely love GoodNotes 4. It has been my go-to notebook app since I had an iPad Air 2 used an Adonit Pixel Stylus. Just a few minor features I would like to be considered: -Page Organization: I love how the notebooks are organized, however it has been rather difficult for me to navigate through the pages of my notebook. There is a feature that allows me to view all the pages to sort and batch delete. However, for my notebook that have lots of pages, it’s a bit difficult to find the page that I am looking for. It takes a moment to sift through the page that I want to get to if I want to review or add content to that page. It’s not necessary, but the time it takes to do so is enough for me to lose my train of thought. If there is a way to add searchable titles or a content page, that would be extremely useful. -Additional Color Slots: I love the palette feature. Could we maybe add another slot or two for more color options? I think there is some space to do so... -Page Background: not a necessary feature but I do think it would be pretty cool if it were possible to edit the background of the page. Clearly the page organization is the main feature I would like to see incorporated into the app. Otherwise, out of the many note-taking apps I have, this app is the primary app I use for shorter notebooks.
