I’ve enjoyed this app/game and met so many interesting people since I started. The app only downfall to me is the GPS isn’t as accurate as it could be, other than that I love it!!!
Impossible to cancel app

I used this app in 2016 and haven’t paid much attention to it since then. Today I realized that I was paying a yearly fee(yes, my bad) and spent the day trying to cancel the app. It’s an automatic renewal that gets by the “apple subscription “ site. The site shows I have no “subscriptions”, yet every year geocaching.com gets my money. This is a greedy site that counts on people to “give up” or forget that it keeps renewing. Two days later… I think I finally got rid of “yearly subscription “ through iTunes. I called 1-800-MyApple and talked to a human. You have to say “talk to a person” but after a short wait, got a person and explained my problem. Five minutes later, geocache.com can’t access my credit card. Thanks Apple!!!!!! Also “somebody changed my “star rating “ from one star to three after I sent this in. I just changed it back to one star, see what happens.
Yearly payments of $30 to find non-premium caches? Wow

This app used to be free for all non-premium caches (so, the vast majority of them). Then the company behind the website got greedy. Geocaching doesn't belong to anyone person or corporation. This app is killing Geocaching. Where is my $10 app functionality that I already paid for? Geocaching.com was an early pioneer of the subscription cancer you see everywhere on the App Store nowadays. I used to be a premium member before this app became like this, and I’ve cancelled by my membership because of this unethical cashgrab.

I tried geocaching for the first time today. We spent like a good 20 minutes looking for the treasure until we realized it has already been found. I can’t find any geocache that hasn’t been found yet. I want to try one but all of the geocache says it’s been found already.

We love geocaching! My kids are slightly reluctant hikers, but if we are hiking to find a geocache they are happy and motivated. Great hobby in our hometown and when traveling. The app makes it really convenient.
What started as a great idea is a mess

Geocaching is great fun but the hidebound administrative types and the monetizers have ruined. Sucked fun right out. Three years on and still horrid.
