Not as great as the old app

I suppose this isn't the place to complain about the change to the basic vs premium membership. The severe restrictions on basic membership caches means some of my geocaching buddies won't participate any more. Apart from that, I like that the map moves with you, once you tap through a few screens to get it to center on current location. But I find it harder to use than the old app. In the sunlight, parts of the app (esp. light letters on dark background) become invisible in the sun. Not good when all you've got is an iPhone. That you no longer have a list of what caches you've done means that when my get-partner and I do a bunch, we have to go home to our computers and try to figure out if each of us logged all the caches. We used to be able to check the app. I find what I assume to be encouraging statements by the app to instead be patronizing. It's annoying to be told that I'm within 30 ft of a cache and to put down my phone and start looking, especially when the cache turns out to be 90 ft away. I don't need the "encouragement" that comes with finding a cache: the smiley is all I need. There's more, but this is already overly long. It's what you need to geocache. Hopefully, all the features of the old app will be put on this one, and the old premium membership rules (cache owners decide what's premium and what isn't) are reinstated.

The more I use it the better I like it. I do get lost in it still when I'm looking for something I used to easily get to. But the new features are awesome.

I like this one better than the old app because switching between the description the map and the compass are much faster. Thanks. But please don't forget to add the souvenirs.

Wow. I don't mind paying for it. But to limit the amount of caches accessible with the free version in order to force people to pay $29.99/year is extremely excessive. Not only that, but also disgustingly greedy and simply unethical. Keep your app. I will not support such disgusting business practices.

This app would be great if you didn't have to pay a monthly fee to be able to view all of the caches. I would understand a one time fee but this is way too expensive. Such a shame because I like the set up of this app the best of any other caching apps I've found. I'll have to deal with a cheaper, less user friendly one though.

Do not care for this new app too much. Very hard to use very hard to navigate. Can't have my travel bugs visit or if so I cannot find where to do it. It used to be a lot easier. I'm going to try a few more Apps and may not renew my subscription
Where is my $10 app?

Been Geocaching since 2009, but took a break for the last two years. I paid $10 for this app and they went and replaced it with a free version that has significantly less functionality unless you're willing to pay for a "Premium" membership. The whole reason I paid $10 for the old app was to support Groundspeak for a hobby I enjoyed, but can't necessarily afford the cost of Premium. Total BS!!
