Slow for the weather!

Kboczek

Keep your $5 people! Dezl 770 and radar takes 5 min tp load. The moving one crashes if it doesn't load in 5-10min. Problem on the garmin server end? Traffic working ok but it doesn't seem to look really far out. However it will grab data outside of being in antenna range of a city. Would be nice if it drew from both but if you are linked to the phone and on a call in some areas data won't work..

This app is missing the basic feature of manually entering an address and send it to the navigator. The bought a Garmin Navigator, because I thought the mobile phone app would let my wife “my co-pilot” to send an address she manually entered into the Garmin Smart Link to the Navigator. This is feature would be really handy since she is the one doing the navigation while I’m concentrating on driving. As of now you can only send an address you found in Four Square or the address book. Besides adding the ability to manual enter an address into the Smart Link and send it to the navigator, it would be nice to be able to click on an address found on the iPhone or iPad’s web browser and have a choice to send it to the Garmin navigator. It would also be nice if Garmin had a trip planer app for a iPad, which would allow a trip to be planed using the large tablet screen, then send to the Garmin navigator. The navigator screen is too small to effectively plan a trip. Also is makes more since for the “co-pilot” have the ability to edit a trip plan, while traveling. - I would pay a for this feature. I would also be willing to pay a monthly feed for if trip planner was really good for planning and saving trips.

Love the gps. While having this app running my dezl 580 freezes and I have no idea. I have missed turns & exits. Is there a way to correct that or have the traffic & weather information work without the app?

Doesn't sent locations to my Nüvi

Using iPhone 8+ running IOS 12.3 with my Nüvi 2597LMT, addresses are not transferring from the app to the Nüvi. Very disappointed.

Awful

This app has potential, but is currently terrible. I purchased the weather service and photolive service, was charged, and the app still is not allowing me to use the service on the app or gps.

Weather Alerts do not work

theSubdude

I am using a BMW Nav VI, iPhone 7. I purchased Weather Alerts, approx $5.00. It doesn’t work. I have a fair amount of experience using Garmin gps, including gps linked to iPhone. When I go to ‘weather alerts’ it directs me to purchase the app. I purchased the app in good faith and have spent way too much time trying to get it to work, I feel rather ripped. I certainly will not purchase something like this from Garmin again. Save your money, this doesn’t work.

Needs an off button

You cannot shut off weather and traffic alerts at will. It is really annoying to ride around town with these weather and traffic alerts constantly going off. You should be able to set the frequency of alerts and also be able to clear them. The traffic alerts should also be able to be set for how much time delay before they go off. In a city a one min delay alert is ridiculous.

Improve functionality please!

The Nach

I do notice a lot of random connected/disconnected activity going on through the day. On a separate note, I would like to see the ability to share address info with the Garmin through the iOS share function. I recall Android can already do this and I don’t see why Smartphone Link cannot do the same. It would be great to look up an address in google or Apple maps and share directly to the GPS!!! Also of great note... As I returned to using Garmin dezl 780, from use of several Rand McNally Truck GPS’s, I noticed some UI improvements that Garmin could easily do to make quality of life better for their users. Having more in depth and detailed customization of alerts and displayed information on the GPS screen would be welcome software additions. Please take a cue from your competition that Rand McNally uses in their UI, to make a great product even better!!
