Why the update?

Must say that since the update I have had multiple issue trying to connect. While the camera quality is very good the app is terrible. A giant step back. No sure what they were thinking. Develop a new one quickly or improve the current. I have a new house and want to install a number of cameras. Will choose a different brand if these issues are not solved and the will change cameras in my old summer house too. Hurry or you’ll lose out!

I’ve never been able to get motion detection to work, the app generally suffers from a language gap, and it’s just generally high maintenance. Many hours monkeying and I finally bailed and bought Arlo (also do not recommend). I still have this old camera and was going to set it up to watch my garage, but the app crashes every time I try to log in. Fitting.

The whole reason for this app is to nag you to purchase their cloud services. The functionality as been crippled severely since I bought my camera. No more remote view of SD card, they want you to buy their cloud services instead. Camera and App are basically useless without purchasing their cloud services.

Why can’t I view my camera without WiFi???? Wth would I only want a app that only works with WiFi and I can’t use outside of the house...
Remote SD playback removed - DO NOT UPDATE

The previous version of this app was no cakewalk, but in this latest update they have removed remote playback of sd card videos instead showing you a splash screen trying to make you sign up for their cloud service. No thanks. I specifically bought these foscam cameras because I don’t want to use a cloud service. And now foscam have, in a user-hostile move, removed the ability to remotely playback sd card videos in order to further their corporate interests. Unless this functionality comes back, im done with foscam. I’ll try to load an older version of this garbage app just for this functionality, but Fkscam’s time in my home is numbered.

First I couldn't update the last firmware & support gave wrong directions. Couldn't reach them after that. Then I got a new modem & everything/all devices are on 5Hz & won't connect. The camera only supports 2.4Hz. I have no open Ethernet ports open so I'll have to disconnect something to do a wired connection. I'll also have to climb the furniture to reach the camera to connect it. I tried to use an old iPhone to connect the app, but the app constantly crashes. From the last update I was able to do on my phone, I've only been able to view through the app some of the time when away from home. I can't believe Foscam has the nerve to send me emails trying to sell my more cameras. GET THE FIRST ONE AND APP TO WORK FIRST!!

I just to add my cameras when I was away from home, now if I do not sign into the Foscam cloud doesn’t not work, wait also if I signed into the cloud also I am not able to add any of my cameras when I am away from home. Foscam did not updated the ir old version so I did the ios upgrade but old app does not work anymore. So I had to download the new app while I was outside of the US and guess what happened I could not add my cameras if I am away. So I am stuck out of the country, with an useless cameras system at home. Thank you!!! I love it!!!
