Remote connectivity NEVER works!

This cam is completely unreliable. The remote connectivity never works. Even if I'm on wifi. The never ending "updates" require the camera to be rebooted each time. So, unless you sit at home all day the camera can not be viewed while you are away from home! Also, I had someone enter my home while I was out working and the camera would not open for me to view what was going on... Again, Not reliable!

No longer usable as baby monitor!!

We were using the camera as a baby monitor for the last several years and it worked just fine. The app would stay on through the night so I could hear my child. Now it shuts down after 5 minutes of inactivity as any regular app on the phone! So now I have to get a baby monitor!! I’d love a refund on my now useless cameras please. Who came up with that stupid idea?!?

I can't stand this app. Seriously. It's horrible software. My cam can almost never get added through the app. I have to go through dozens of attempts until it finally registers. Guess how annoying it is to hear "wireless connection succeeded" from the camera, only to repeatedly be denied to add the camera to the app - the connection never goes through. ? And getting added is just the first step - it allows you to use your camera. If you can't get it added, you can't even use it! And when it does connect, the notifications for motion detection fail to update after a week. Which forces me to delete the camera from the app, and go through hours of trying to readd my camera back onto the app. And the setup process uses a super annoying QR scanning process where you scan a QR code on the bottom of the camera with your phone's camera, put in your network's info, and a QR is generated on your phone screen which you then show on front of the Foscam camera. It's so dumb and tedious. Hours wasted. This app - I can't stand this app.

Camera is great when it connects to the app. False advertisement when you say you can pay attention to what you care about. Can't pay attention if you can't connect all the time right? Yes cheaper than Nestcam but if you are willing to deal with clunky setup. Will rethink next purchase. WILL NOT buy another Foscam. 11/27/2016- App still fails to connect when outside of home. Unplugging camera seems to help sometimes. Why the time of day change all the time with both my camera and I have to re-sync? 5/21/2018- I have 2 camera and am able to access one and not the other. The one I can’t access is sending me notifications of activity but of course I can’t see what is going on. Not a reliable system still. I have no problems accessing my other brand camera at anytime and day. I changed the name of the cameras and still getting notification with the old names.

Foscam please respect your customers and upgrade this app.

The old Foscam pro app works a lot better. This one crashes, has connectivity issues (I work in IT so I am tech savvy) Foscam please back your hardware with solid software. For this reason alone I cannot recommend anyone buying Foscam equipment requiring this app.

I am new to Foscam so I am unaware of what the old app was like. However, I honestly ordered many different cameras (wanscam, Yi, amcrest etc. ) in order to find the best combo between app and camera. I found the Yi app to be nice however the App Store had recently removed it and they released a new Yi light app which was ok. The Yi camera itself didn’t have Ethernet capability and the range for WiFi wasn’t as good as Foscam in my opinion. Foscam was by far the best camera and camera app combo. I find the app to be exactly what I was looking for. I am not sure why it has only 1.8 stars. Maybe that is from people who had the previous Foscam app, like I said I am new to Foscam so I have never used the old app.

Useless, full of ads with no remote SD playback

Was not expecting basic functionality like remote playback from recorded footage to be purposefully turned off. Only option for remote playback requires a cloud subscription, which the app tries to sell repeatedly. These cameras were a waste of my money and I will be returning all of them to exchange for a different brand.
