2nd Gen owner - eero drops off wifi

When the eero works it's fantastic but now after 7 months after the purchase I really regret the expensive purchase because the lack of support. When the eero drops of wifi every day multiple times and support can not do anything for you but to tell you to power cycle the eero. Then they will blame your ISP, Ethernet wires and cable modem. I got fed up so I bought a brand new modem, new Ethernet cables but I still get the same problems. I verified with my isp that my internet connection is sold and now I'm going to buy a USB to Ethernet dongle to also prove to eero support that it's a defective unit. So the $399 I paid to eero is really $550. Stay away from the product, support will not help you. Get another brand known for networking. It'll save you grief.

The app makes setup easy. I installed a Eero Pro 3 piece system to replace a Apple Extreme and two Airport Expresses. The Apple system would push about 50 Mbps. The Eero shot up to 144 and 243 Mbps. I now have have a 1 gig from Xfinity and my wifi on iPad and iPhone is as high as 292 Mbps. Super system that doesn’t fluctuate speed much. No rebooting either!

Fast, reliable, and insanely easy to setup. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because of the profile layout. You can’t apply to all, you can only add to specific groups. They need to allow filtering across all devices in a given profile (I have 60 so that’s really time consuming). And if guests come over, how do I manage them? It’s a little picky, but they could easily fix it. Please?

So I almost spent an unnecessary $200 for another beacon due to the inaccuracy of the app in which it lead me to be annoyed and convinced this product is hyped. I finally decided to play around with the beacon placement because i was still getting subpar speeds and finally realized that the app isn’t updated/refreshed which is stupid even when you force close the app. It keeps saying my PC was connected to the furthest eero rather then the one plugged into the same wall but when I ran a speed test, it was obvious it is connected to the one on the same wall (blatantly obvious when one beacon gives 15 down and the other gives 46 down ??♀️). I can confirm with turning wifi off my phone but eero still saying phone is connected smh. I have a 1200 sq foot home, so glad I decided to trial and error before wasting more money.

Please add features to measure bandwidth usage, downloadable spreadsheets of usage by device over time, etc. Also enable email notifications when the Eero loses its connection.

Great hardware, but the fact it nags me to sign up for their plus service when I open the app keeps me from recommending this wholeheartedly. Remove the ads when I have already paid good money for your product!!

My Eero doesn't support a laptop and an iPhone from a distance no greater than 40 feet down the hall. Do not buy this device, save your money for something that works.
