Was working before

The most recent version randomly either stops playing entirely or switches midstream to a different file. This is particularly irritating when in the middle of an audio book and it changes books or switches to music. I use this when driving or biking and it is difficult to stop and fix it.

Refuses to play anything!!

You can tap a song for an hour. The thing won't play anything. Songs are listed but nothing! This app is garbage! I want my dollar back!

I mainly got this because apples music app has tossed out the features I want (mainly the star rating system that I use religiously) and stuffed in a bunch of crap I don't want or need. Ecoute is simple to use and doesn't have a bunch of peripheral crap going on. Well done!
Not useful anymore

I used to use Ecoute to play music and podcasts, synced from iTunes. It used to work well, but in recent iOS releases podcasts have problems playing through the Music app, as done by Ecoute. Under iOS 10 playback froze when changing networks. Under iOS 11 it doesn’t remember playback position for podcasts.

This player adds an unnecessary Playback History playlist that cannot be removed. Power users stay away.

I love this app. Been using it for years and its gesture controls and UI really makes it better than the stock Music app (IMO). It still has issues like not being able to determine which group of music (album, artist, playlist, etc) defaults when you open the app. The app still has random crashes and freezes but it’s still pretty darn great in my book.

Only thing missing for me is respect for playlist folders. I want to have a neat hierarchy of folders, not have everything shown at one page.

This used to work great before the last two ios updates made it too slow to use efficiently. I'm actually going back to the native music player which i can't stand until Ecoute gets back up to speed.
What happened?

For about a month or 2 the app has gotten really slow and it gets stuck for like 10 seconds everytime I change songs or when I try to go to back to show the music list, even when I try to pause it, it gets stuck. I have an iPhone 7+. Ive already reseted my phone, I have closed the app, and I have deleted the app and redownloaded it. Its starting to get annoying and frustrating. This is the only music player that I have found that I love because of its features. Please fix it!
