MISLEADING

Maybe I’m an idiot but I never caught on to the idea it’s like uber for moving. Your job is “posted” and people decide to take it or not. I scheduled a Dolly at 6a the day of the move. I was hoping to start the move between 10:30a and 12. At 12 I hadn’t heard anything so I called customer service. She said I should push my time back. I reschedule from 12 to 3. It’s now 4:10 and supposedly the movers are in route. I called back customer service and I was challenged and ultimately given a $20 credit. I wasted a whole day of moving and should have just hired movers. App is misleading and unclear in my opinion.

Just got our moving truck delivered and our furniture is all jacked up. Stuff was thrown in and not protected. I Assumed giving the guys SIX bags of furniture pads meant they would open them and use them. There were bags of pads not even opened, furniture on top of each other all scratched up. Lamps broken. I’m so upset. The bulkhead was put in so I couldn’t see the items before the truck left. I can only imagine all of the mess we will find as we unload the rest.

I have a baby and an injured ankle. So I booked 2 helpers with dolly well in advance. They CANCELLED on me THE EVENING BEFORE. I called and some 19 year old ditz told me the team was moved for “complicated routing purposes.” They then hooked me up with someone else and then CANCELLED AGAIN at 7:30 pm. So 12 hours the night before I was supposed to move they left me completely hanging out to dry. It takes every ounce of restraint I can muster to not just fill this with 4 letter words. Moving is stressful. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid the stress of getting screwed by Dolly he might before and pay an extra few dollars to pay for a local moving team that will actually show up instead of getting screwed by some “rerouting algorithm”.

They cancelled my helper within HOURS of my move. I relied on them! ZERO STARS. Customer Support did nothing. I hate this company

For one bulk item, it’s cheaper and less of a hassle to rent a truck and do it yourself. The team was late, about an hour, and the company scheduled, then cancelled my original pick up day and time.

i had a terrible experience with dolly. not only was my helper canceled the night before, but the next day my helper was late and then called to say he would be hours later due to car trouble. dolly support did not help me find anyone else and provided awful customer service. i have never taken the time to write a review but this has ruined my entire moving process and i am extremely disappointed. i will never choose dolly again and i hope writing this will save someone else the disappointment and trouble.

I wasted so much time on this. Great concept, terrible execution -- in fact, no execution. I completed the request on the app. The app crashed. Completed it again. App crashed again. Made a request through website. Received text after text from Dolly saying my request had been received and a helper would contact me. Nobody contacted me. Very frustrating!! So I called an old fashioned delivery service with old fashioned (higher) prices, where someone is guaranteed to help me.


No helpers multiple times

I was trying to get helpers to come and help me move furniture from my apt to the dumpster and I requested people 3 different times, and nobody helped. 3 different days, times, and one of those times was from 8am-5pm and no takers. The company basically said “oh well, you’re screwed.”

Dolly Cancelled Last Minute

I had a Dolly scheduled to move my one bed apartment a few weeks before the move date. A “helper” was assigned to my job and all seemed fine. The DAY of the move (I checked the day previous and all was fine) the helper was no longer assigned to the job. They gave me no warning or notification. I reached out to support in a panic—I had to be out that day—and all they would tell me was to repost the move. They left me completely high and dry. I really would caution anyone against it unless you are extremely flexible in your moving situation. The movers can cancel on you on a whim and you have no guarantees of help the day you need it. This is a very poor service and I certainly will not attempt to use it again.
