ZERO stars—doesn’t work at all!

apopheniac

8/4/2019 – Version 2.5.1.15 Build 1093 still fails in the same way as previously reported. MAJOR BUG! PLEASE FIX!!! Version 2.5.0.14 Build 1092 fails in the same way as the last version I reported on. (7/14/2019) This used to be a 4-star app, but the new version (2.4.31.16 Build 1048) doesn’t recognize an established Wi-Fi connection between my iPhone 6+ and EOS 77D and therefore DOESN’T WORK AT ALL, reporting “Connection target not found.” I didn’t realize until this version (when it stopped working) how much this app had added to my enjoyment of the camera.… :(

Brilliant video remote for EOS R and M50

pabaker85

Coming from Sony Alphas this app was a breath of fresh air. It gives you nearly total control of the EOS R and M50 from the app including C-log monitoring. The problem with Sony and Nikon is that you get virtually no video controls. Sony you also lose face detection and have no tap to focus using their app. Nikon literally only gives you a record button for video. Fujifilm has similar frustrating quirks like no 4K video when using the app. Canon and Panasonic have the best remote video control functionality by far.

Hundreds of empty photo albums

Matt :|

After using this awkward app to get the photos from the camera onto my phone, I now have multiple hundreds of empty photo albums named “Canon EOS Rebel T6”. Hundreds is not an exaggeration. What makes this more than just an annoyance is that it is not possible to multi-select albums on iPhone and delete them. Each album must be individually selected and deleted, which I spent about 15 solid minutes doing until I couldn’t stand it anymore and realized it didn’t even make a dent. Do yourself a favor and buy whatever dongle you need to connect it to your computer instead of using this terrible app.

Has space to improve

Fromprairie

This is a very useful app that make Canon EOS camera features stand out. However, there still are something need to be improved to make it even better. One of them is the shutter button. If it can make a click sound, or vibration when touching it, it would by much help for selfie.

Useless

Wannabmick

It’s cool when it works. IF you can connect your camera to your iphone you can access your photos right away and use the app as a remote shutter. Pointless app if it won’t connect though :-(

Fail to send images???

Princessskat

Slow to transfer images and videos. And now it’s saying FAIL TO SEND IMAGES?? Insufficient space on phone? I have over 200GB left of space on my phone, I thinkkkk I can send ONE picture to my phone. What is going on Canon?? Are you going to fix this issue? I read online that it happens often and to disconnect the camera and phone, then delete app and re-download. Well that was a fail! Very disappointing.

I have not used this app to its entirety but it seems ok

vlenza332

I have been reading reviews and i've found that through friends that this app is great. the only reason i give this app 3 stars is solely with my camera. My t3i wouldn't connect ( which i didn't expect it to since its so old and at the lower end). would definitely recommend if you have the right camera or camera's.

Terrible app don’t waste your time

First time connection was fast and easy. Subsequent attempts to connect to 5d4 do not work—will not connect iPhone or iPad to camera. iPhone & iPad see the camera’s wi-fi but software does not connect.

Limited

MannyVgood

This Canon app is limited to some of their hardware. Unfortunately for me, I have an older Vivia HF R60 camcorder that can’t use this application. If I would of have had known what hardware works would this, and other Canon applications, I would of have had never have purchased the older Canon Vixia HF R60 camcorder. Their website, and customer support isn’t that much helpful either. Well it is a hit and miss with their customer support. Sometimes you get the right person who will help you out, especially when one like myself is not an expert in any way, and then you got the cocky ones who will talk to you as if you were dumb or stupid, and try and make one feel as if we were supposed to be have been born with knowing the Canon products. Anyhow, if you are going to try and use this app, make sure that your Canon hardware gets to support the applications that Canon has, and good luck in trying to deal with the Canon customer support folks too.

Garbage...

Inexplicably convoluted... inconsistent ‘function’ality... makes using a laptop and card reader seem like heaven... ?
