The game consistently deals cards that you previously discard. The algorithm should randomly deal the cards. It does not.

Can’t discard cards properly! Glitchy!

When trying to discard, the card gets pulled to the meld area. This happens fairly often and you get penalized 10 points each time. Why hasn’t this glitch been fixed? I see it’s the same glitch for months now.

I have been using CJ for a long time as its “the only game in town” when not playing in live games.They need to take a look at how many wild card canastas there are per games played...way too many...it really spoils the game when one team starts right out with five wilds. Other problems: people go out putting down just two cards and computer did not stop that, discarded cards often jump onto board as tho you are melding when you’re not, and of course what feels like constant boots....They should also consider adding a choice to not join a game if you prefer not to play wilds anytime...right now it comes up with just the choice of OK....I think you should not be accused of quitting a game if you chose not to join it in the first place. The app has 1 star.....this should tell the folks in charge that they have a great idea but it seriously needs work.

Frequent server disruptions & quirky interface

Right now it’s the only game in town for remote Canasta play using NA standard rules. For that it should be celebrated as I know I and many friends relied on CJ through the pandemic. However it seems to suffer from lack of competitors with little incentive to improve. The interface is dated, somewhat janky and difficult to use, and it constantly has issues with keeping all users attached to the server to enable remote play. Recovery when a user has left the game often results in a incorrect cards, requiring a completely new game to be started. The logic behind Bot play also leaves something to be desired. Hoping the sale and additional investment into an update will help resolve some of the issues with this app. If so I will be back to update this review.

Update is awful

Do not recommend updating the app. Have been playing this app for a long time and have loved it despite the few glitches. However, just downloaded the 7/1/21 update and it is awful; graphically the cards are now so difficult to read both in your hand and on the board and you cannot see them at all if you pick a large pile (makes it difficult to play now). Also they added some cheers and applause sound when you win a round and it is very annoying. Can not turn it off unless you just mute the app and then you can no longer hear the card sounds and timer. I hope they fix this soon or revert back to the pre upgrade version.

Cards are hard to read now. They look like kids cards with the jokers. Also, the 10 hides behind the others. The colors seem off too. Not happy with it at all.

Canasta Junction has helped with the boredom and frustration of COVID The developers were aware that there were some issues with the robot play and they restrict update has fixed yes. For me personally I like the larger size cards. The numbers are easier to read especially on the phone. Support has been very responsive. Videos on their home page to assist and updates via their Facebook page often. If you like playing Canasta this is the app for you
