Login solved, but not intuitive

El Digit

I created an account in store with a text message and PIN. To use the app, it wants a username and password. The trick is to select “online activation instead of login. Doing this prompts you to create the user/pass combo from the info provided at the kiosk. Appears to work now.

Buggy

BrianKKlein

Frequently says unable to login because there’s no WiFi connection. When I know I have a connection because every other application or browser is working fine.

Scam Scam Scam

Bummer Toons

Update #3 I am convinced this is an organized scam to collect deposits and not pay out. This time, the kiosk is finally working. You’re supposed to be able to scan EITHER you bottle drop card OR your drivers license. I didn’t bring my card, so I scanned my DL, but when it asks for my PIN, it repeatedly says “Invalid PIN.” Wrong. I have only one PIN, I have it noted in an app on my phone from when I set up my account. So once again, I tried calling the UnHelp number. A recording starts by announcing their business hours, and then the message abruptly cuts out at the exact same point. I have called 5 times and the message stops at the exact same word every time. There is no option at any time during the message to zero out or access a menu. So every call just eta stuck no matter how long you stay in the line (the call stays up, it just doesn’t do anything). So this makes 6 freaking times over two months I have tried unsuccessfully to access my deposit. Update 2: In theory, this is a convenient way to return bottles. In reality, it’s a train wreck and a scam. The biggest issue so far is I have still not been able to get ANY money for the bottles and cans I have returned. EVERY time I go to the store, the kiosk, where you have to get your money, is out of order. The store manager said someone is supposed to come every day to check the machine, and the store has no way to access it or know what’s wrong. The kiosk has a toll-free customer service number, but it’s just a voice mail box and you can’t leave a message because it’s always full. This is pretty silly. I set up my account at the store. It requires an email address, a pet name, and a pin. That’s all good. This setup provides an account number. All great. I downloaded the app. To log in, the app requires a user name, which I will assume is my email address. It also requires a password, which you don’t create when you set up an account at the store. To reset / recover your password, you have to enter your email address, card number, and PIN! Why on earth doesn’t the app use the email, account number, and PIN? It’s kind of ridiculous that you can’t log into your account with those, but that’s how you have to recover / reset a password! I will modify my rating once I have been able to actually use my account and see how payment works. In the meantime, it’s mind boggling the app doesn’t use any of the same account credentials as your actual bottle drop account. UPDATE 1: Downgrading from 2 stars to 1. It turns out the email address you use to create your Bottle Drop account has nothing to do with a user name and password. In other words, to use this ridiculous app, you have to set up an account using your email address, two security questions, and a PON you designate. That all makes sense. But to use the app, you have to create an entirely separate user name and password. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. No other app is that archaic.

Lame App!

GEWallace

The App doesn’t update. Bag history went unrecorded. Eventually had to log onto the website to retrieve my balance. Most of the time I couldn’t logon because of the unable to connect to Wi-Fi message. Like communism, I’m sure this app looked good on paper.

Please spend money on developers to fix and redesign this app.

App is in serious need of a total redesign and Lille architecture. Come on the last time it was updated was “a year ago” says it right on the App Store listing. Really?? That was like 6 updates air and a major update to iOS 13. Constantly getting an error about not being connected to WiFi. Force closing the app fixes it until next time. When using the location feature the app never asks for location access because it dose not support GPS so you must enter in a location and try and figure out what one is really close.

App needs updating

Gigis519#

The app was very useful when it worked I could check locations and balances. However since the IOS current update it says it can’t connect to WiFi or Internet which renders useless outside of finding a location.

Please update app!

tripledeezy

It always tells me that I need WiFi/data access to use the app. I just added a web link to the bottledrop website to my home screen.

Used to work great

Tattooedgirl78

This app used to work wonderfully. Now it won’t load. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling worked once then back to the error message about needing WiFi to connect. Sure would he nice for this to work. How about an update?

Fails in 4 of 5 stated goals

Bluebird pdx

As of the iOS update, app no longer recognizes wifi or cellular data connectivity- so you are able to find recycling locations, but you cannot get information about your account, bag history, access the Give function or get notifications about your account. That’s a pretty big fail.

Almost worthless

Death Valley Duck

As others have pointed out, an “unable to connect to wi-fi” error message prevents access to my account.
