The app won’t let me log in. I’ve deleted the app multiple times and redownloaded it to keep getting “unknown error 1001” on both my iPad and iPhone. Nothing online about how to fix it. Terrible app.

I am using this to study for a real estate exam. E-textbooks are new to me and I was unsure of how I would like it. I was surprised by many of the useful functions, including flash cards, being able to transfer images and figures to flash cards, making notes, highlighting, etc. Working well so far for me.

I used the chat feature to ask if I could upgrade my textbook rental to a purchase. They said I would have to refund and rebuy. I said I wanted to think about it since I had already highlighted text and created notes. When I woke up the next day, my textbook had been refunded. Now I am without a textbook without repurchasing and all my notes and highlights are forever gone. When I called customer service, they said there’s nothing they can do. Horrible experience.

By far the worst app Ive ever downloaded. I thought it would be helpful to me reading all the positive reviews only to find nothing but lies. Every search come up as a no result search or its the same book (The Only Book) ive ever found in this app. Please don't waste your time with this app its not worth it.

I like most everything. The only enhancement I’d suggest to get to 5 stars is upgrading the speech to interface with IOS’s enhanced voices.

I love this app. I’m a nursing student and my school does all of our learning through evolve. The one disappointment I have with thus app is that the read-aloud function is terrible. The voices are obviously computer generated and are impossible to listen to for longer than 10 seconds. I just wish it was a real person talking. That would make it possible for me to listen the book when I’m commuting.

This app is not easy to use, it will not let you print from the app, making you use the desktop version, and even then it just prints the url to file you want to print, not actually the information you want to print. Accessing the desktop version is cumbersome, and I am so tired of having to verify my cookies settings every time I turn around on the site. The version of the app or desktop version I open on my phone is different than the one I can open on my tablet or desktop, and does not have all of the features, such as print. In short, I would never recommend this app or website to anyone, and I feel bad for anyone who is forced to use it because their institute of higher learning offers their textbooks through it. A high school student with no funding could build a better app and website.

I have been using Vitalsource bookshelf for several years now. It is great, but there are few areas that frustrate me 1. Bookshelf on the web interface and my device are never the same - even though they claim it to be so 2. Page flow is not idea, it would be wonderful to have a free flow as an option 3. Read Aloud reads header and footer, figure and table captions etc. I am sure the “flow” for read aloud can be programmed to read only text body and avoid captions, footnote, page number etc. It does not help when you are listening to a book with all those distractions.

Keeps all of your textbooks in one place, can easily navigate through chapters and sections, very well done.
