Arc App - Location & activity Reviews

I have been testing about a dozen apps to find a replacement for Moves. Arc is the only app that comes close for simple elegance, accuracy, and ease of use. It keeps improving. It amazing this is one developer.

Very good, but still room for improvement

After Moves died, I tried every single iOS moves tracker I could find. This is the best one, but it's not quite perfect. Battery: I ran 5 moves tracking apps at the same time on my phone, and this one was by far the best balance for battery versus accuracy. Accuracy: It's good, but there are sometimes bugs. For example, it seems to lose time at a venue, showing me at a place for 3 minutes while in reality I was there for over an hour. The time in between is not accounted for anywhere in the app. UI: Well designed, but sometimes slow to respond even on the latest iPhone Export functionality: It has exports, but they're still clunky. There's no way to export all your data, but it seems like it'll get there soon. It doesn’t look like there will ever be a Moves-like web API. Cost: I appreciate the ability to donate monthly to sustain development! I would happily pay $10/month for this app ($120 a year), but that’s not an option, so I’m paying $5. If you like it, consider paying as well.

Need gps coordinates

This app would be perfect for my school project except it doesn’t provide gps coordinates. We are supposed to create a home range map using data like location coordinates, activity, etc. therefore I can’t use it for what I need it for.

Really like this app. Check it all the time to track my travels around the world. Only few requests 1. Add more different kinds of data (how long Walking without stopping per day), 2. A full map showing all your travels, 3. Stop app from turning off for no reason.

Here’s a privacy-focused location diary tool.. and there’s nothing else like it. All built by a single developer, all on-phone data processing and storage, daily automatic exports, tie-ins to photos and workouts and health.. I wish Moves App died years ago for things like this to come to fruition sooner. In the future I’d love to see (in order of my own desires): Stationary activities like moves offered, Apple Watch abilities (so you one could leave their phone at home for a run and still see the track), and data editing/importing (as a means to do the same with any device or to split tracks back into separate categories). I’m proud to be a backer and can’t wait to see what the future looks like for Matt’s projects.

In the few months I’ve been using this app, I’ve been in touch with the developer about ways to improve the app...or to ask a question. In every case, he responds quickly, thoroughly - and usually is pushing out an update that does what I suggested/asked about. Support this app!

Terrible!!!

This app was supposed to be an adequate replacement for the now defunct Moves app, but it only wishes. Easily the most frustrating app I’ve owned and least effective. Unexplainable data gaps occur ALL the time. Location pin points are equally vague and frustrating. Do not use this for any kind of fitness tracking...total waste of time!!!
