HEALTH DATA
Collection of Health data such as calories burned and heart rate requires an Apple Watch or other Apple Health connected device.
BATTERY USE
Arc is only awake and using GPS when you are active and moving. For the rest of the day Arc stays in a low power sleep mode, with GPS turned off, to conserve battery.
On a typical day of two to three hours of travel a single full battery charge should last from morning to evening without requiring extra recharging during the day. However longer trips (for example a long hike or cross country drive) may consume more than expected battery, due to Arc needing to be awake and recording, with GPS activated, for the duration of the trip.
For longer trips, I recommend plugging your phone into a car charger or battery pack, to avoid unpleasant battery surprises.

i was looking for an alternative for Google’s location history. Arc does that job well! and it’s free to use! Thank you! Keep up the great work! ?
I love the idea of this app and I’ve looking around for something like it one and off for years. It has the privacy focus I need and the functionality to be useful. Just a little bit of training and this app really improves in its tracking. Highly recommended. I became a backer within a couple of days of use.
There have been weeks at a time it doesn’t serve the only function I downloaded it for: to log my daily movements.
I’ve been using this app for the past year to track everywhere I’ve walked in my city but now in the new year, it fails to load any of my previous yearly summary activity and desperately lacks the ability to see a total view of every type of previous activity in a map together (or even just the ability to see everywhere I’ve walked and bike since I’ve started using it!)
Hi, What is your problem people! I’ve supported the program with a 6 months payment, and yet I can’t get my data for more than 60 days And asking me to support the program again.
Hello I used this app for a long time, but I noticed that it wasn’t recording a few days ago. It can’t load previous data normally. Is it a bug right now? Or is it just happen to me? How can I fix it? Thx
Thanks to the developer for clarifying what defined a “high frequency” user. An average time of 6 min/day screen time vs 6 min of movement/recording time is a huge difference.
Some days it works, most days it doesn’t. What never works is the Feedback button. As a PAYING supporter, I’d much rather give Matt and the group a heads up that Arc only functions 50% of the time, but there is no way to contact them. My advise to anyone shopping for a location tracking app is to keep looking.
It’s been 2 weeks since I got meaningful results out of this app. I’ve emailed feedback twice and haven’t heard anything back. It used to be a great app and I’m really bummed it’s not working anymore.
