App Doesn’t Respond, then crashes

AndrewKingMusic

Not sure what the issue is but when I open the app it doesn’t respond to touches, if I tap a few times it crashes and if I just leave it my phone gets hot but the app never loads

Used to work but no more

When I first downloaded this app it worked beautifully. A month or so ago it stopped working. Never crashes but no longer tracks correctly so it has become useless. I have it set to always have access to my location but it no longer sees most of my routes and reports data gaps at times when I am in coverage. I’ve been holding out for an update but I’m about to give up and delete it.

Best successor to Moves

This app tracks where I’ve been for as long as it is running, accurate and labeled, much like the now defunct Move app. [edit - After another month, this is great! The ability to provide an overview years of activities is amazing, and I look forward to having the watch integration complete.] I’ve only had this a couple of weeks. So far it’s good, and hope with its ML it gets even better. I read in several years of the old Move data, which I can now look at again. Matt helped, nice to have the developer to consult. The one issue is iOS kills the app perhaps once a day. It sends a notification, then one must restart the app. I hope this is fixed. As far as I know, the only real competitor now is Google’s timeline, which has only crude tracking, and no doubt sells the info to the highest bidder.

Perfect

I’m an old user for moves. This app is perfect really and now I can’t live without. I know where I’ve been and how long I took there I remember how my day was Two only problems One when the app is crashed and telling me arc is not working anymore and I need to relaunch Second is my main problem that I can’t turn MILES into KMs. Whatever I do , changing region doesn’t make a difference. Please help me

I love/hate it.

Almost there...

I used to love moves and since they collapsed I’ve been looking for a replacement and have been disappointed with moves lite and movesX and other similar programs. Arc is the best substitute I’ve found so far but 2 main issues: 1. It has data gaps all the time. I turned background app refresh on but it never worked so I always leave the app open, but sometimes it still has big gaps. Sometimes it says that iOS closed it...not sure how/why. Other times no reason there are just gaps... 2. I’m not sure if it’s impossible or just not user friendly to add activities when they were missed. E.g. today I was at a location for 2 hrs but it just shows driving from home to home for 2.5 hrs . I would like to add the location I traveled to and the time I was actually there, but I can’t find how to do that.

Fantastic tracking app

This app has just gotten better over the last year. It’s almost up to where Facebook left their Moves App off at. I don’t have nearly the same number of shutdowns anymore and I’m easily able to look back at my data. Thanks for making this fantastic alternative!

Good app, but usability needs to be improved

This app could really be accurately described as fulfilling a need I didn't know existed. For many years I've been wanting to jot down every place I've been to, but doing so manually is tiring and I easily gave up; this app solved this problem simply: what if an app could run in the background and record your every move? I loved the concept of this app, but after using it for a month, I have to say there's a lot of room for improvement. First, there's the problem of accurately identifying the type of transport. The app would get things right about 70% of the time, but with obvious glaring mistakes like identifying a train ride with a car ride; the app knew my movement and knew the map which clearly showed me travelling on a railway track. But it sometimes just couldn't put two and two together to deduce that I'm taking the train. Second, even if the app correctly identified the overall type of transport, it could misidentify a lot of the individual segments. It seemed to really like short 10-second segments of "airplane" which I do not think is even possible. Third, when I fine tune the location using the feature to edit individual segments, sometimes the edits would go away after a few seconds, as if the app was trying to normalize the display and decided my edit should be normalized away. Finally, splitting an individual segment is way too hard. I had to adjust a slider while watching carefully for a gap in the line above. If there is a lot of overlap, it could be very difficult and frustrating. I also think there should be an option to split an individual segment into three segments (or more!). I could be walking, but decided to stop at a Starbucks for two minutes, and then kept walking. If the app identified the whole thing as a single segment, the whole thing had to be split twice, while fighting against the app to keep my edit. Too much trouble.
