Boring

Kingofaraby

Don’t download this waste of time. Takes forever to upgrade anything, unless you throw cash at them (don’t, because then you’d be wasting time and money). Unimaginative battles, sloppy gameplay, just laziness all around. If you’re looking for ways to kill time on your phone, you’ll probably have more fun using your calculator app to add and subtract.

It’s ok

Opahf

It’s ok but there are some things can make it amazing, like: Searching other people and friends More than 4 upgrade More resources produce per hour And no more! It’s fine Because till now some specialities like prefered target, heroes abd unit abilities and ! Controlling units make it wow ?

Castle Siege

I have been playing this game for about a year. I understand the criticism it faces if you expect to sit down and play this game for an hour. Not going to happen. The way you play it, is 5 or 10 minutes at a time several times a day. The fun comes when you attack others and everybody else has configured their own resources differently. The AI of the game opposes you with foes roughly equivalent to you. Your opponents are real people but they have chosen a silly array sometimes — or they might be extremely challenging (and you lose). Win or lose, it’s fun!

Fun game.

Will rate 5 stars when optimized for iPhone X screen.

This is NOT the AOE we have come to love!

Jester_boy1

I am really surprised at the ratings level for this game, I grew up loving AOE and this is not that game! You can't control your own troops so they go wherever they like. The game is clunky and on iOS there have been many times where the game straight out didn't work for long periods of time. When you get a few ages in it slows to a crawl and it becomes boring.

Had it with this crap

I am so done with this garbage game. In the later ages it's nothing but wait a week until you can upgrade one thing (because of how stupidly expensive things are), and oh, since you have a ton of a certain kind of resource because, you know, you're SAVING UP FOR A FREAKING UPGRADE, the game flags you to be attacked, often by people in a higher age than you, and you lose a good amount of the resources you're trying to save. So you can only net a small amount if anything per day unless you don't get attacked by some miracle. The whole reason obviously is the devs want you to break down and make in app purchases. Well sorry not gonna happen, Smoking Gun, you guys can shove your IAPs up your butthole. The ONLY reason I even touched your POS game in the first place is because it gives Xbox achievements. But there are a couple achievements that just aren't worth this hassle.

Uhm. Money grabber.

Back in the late 1990's & early 2000's, I used to play Age of Empires & Age of Mythology. This is just a poor comparison of the good old games. Yes, they were expensive to buy back then, but once you bought the AoM, you did not have to spend any money. Those games were fun to play with. They kept me entertained for hours - heck, even days. With this game, even though is "FREE", you have to spend good $$$ in order to advance.

Great but extremely buggy

Love this game, but servers often don't work. Game Center not properly supported. Very frustrating.

Meh

Loved it at first. But a few days ago it stopped working. Gets stuck on the loading screen. Tried reinstalling but it still won't load. Tried emailing customer support. Never got a reply.

Only in the second age but...

I'm new. Started yesterday actually. The most obvious and annoying thing so far is the inability to spin the screen, making placements of defenses hard to see and therefore do. The entire core of the games is about building a fortress and robbing other folks blind by attacking and looting them. That's the fastest way to build resources. As other players have indicated, you're always subject to being attacked and looted, so it's important to not keep much on hand (upgrade or get plundered). All the strategy app games are meant to be played periodically over time. If you get plundered, go and plunder someone else! I use the strategy of being fully upgraded BEFORE moving on to the next age. It's working so far.
