This is a TOTAL WASTE! UPSIDE DOWN!

LG

This app is a TOTAL WASTE! It open up, upside down, does not rotate & there are no links for support or comments. You can't contact anybody and it has previous reviews and AARP DOES NOTHING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. Make you wonder if this is how the rest of AARP is run! Upside Down I Men! ???

Helpful, but has fundamental flaws

Intrepid watcher

For an organization as large as AARP, it seems strange they can’t get the basic complaints for this app corrected. As noted, the screen display on an iPad is locked, so if you have a keyboard, you have to rotate upside down to see. I like the larger display of an iPad when looking for options, this really needs to be corrected. Written as of iOS release 11.

Fix it

mrbruray

app is upside down on my new I pad2017. Not much use that way. Please remove until you get it right.

Terrible design

fizzylogic

Unusable due to orientation being locked on iPad with keyboard. Can’t read upside down. Deleted

App upside own on iPad - deleted it

Sad but true, the AARP devs do not know how to program the app to rotate properly to right side up on iPads. So, had to delete the useless app.

App Does Not Orient Properly on iPad

Anthony Valentin

Just downloaded the AARP app onto my iPad Pro running the latest build of iOS 11. Unfortunately, as of 29 Sept. 2017, I encountered the same UI glitch that other reviewers have mentioned. When you open the app, it’s orientation is upside down. To read the app you must reorient the iPad, which means I can’t have it in my stand. I would have to hold it in my hands to read the app content. This is a major flaw that negates any value in having the app. I was planning to join AARP but did not want to carry the ID Card or other materials to search for discounts. I depend on my devices to travel as light as possible. Carrying another card and paraphernalia is a sore point for me. I thought the two months since the last reviewer complained about this would have seen an update. Alas, not. I had to uninstall the app.

Upside down!

I have the same problem as everyone else. The app appears upside down when the iPad is correctly oriented. I can’t believe this has yet to be fixed!

APP

Crim Frustrated

This APP is grayed out as if it is updating, and has been gray for several weeks. I contacted APP Support and they told me to contact Apple. I did. I attempted to delete the APP and restart my iPad. Nothing changed and the APP did not delete. Please fix the app with an update or remove it until you have an APP that works.

No bar code on the card should be an easy fix, just bring it over from the AARP Now app. (That shows the card at the top, tap the symbol on the card and rotates filling the screen and adds the bar code.) There is plenty of information here. I did select my preferences in the settings screen then had to re-do them on the main screen (that could be corrected to only need to be done once).

Strange!

If I have to stand on my head to use the app on my iPad Pro (with an attached Logitech keyboard), it’s not worth the trouble. It also does something weird with my iPad’s menu display; it displays upside down as long as I have the app! This is my 3rd attempt. Fix the issue and I will try the app in the future.
