1Writer is perhaps the most versatile and dependable markdown editor in the App Store. Its track record, since its inception, has yet to be beat. The downloadable actions, which extend the feature set enormously, are indispensable, or one can create one’s own actions using Javascript. Its url scheme is first rate and allows it to connect well with other apps and services. I use this app for posting to my Wordpress site. The UI is about as clean and clear as they get. This app is perfect for everything from blogging to novel writing, and it is remarkably bug-free. Dropbox syncing to specific folders is quite reliable. One wish I’d voice: It would be great to manually sort all files and folders at every level. Though merging files is possible thru drag-and-drop, that could be facilitated a bit, I think. You really can’t go wrong here.

This app has gone grime being one of my markdown text editors to my primary text editor on my phone. They keep polishing it and adding features. I highly recommend it.

Please please please support One Drive! This is all I want to use for a service. Is there also a way to support Bears markdown? I sometimes write there and would love for 1Writer to be able to read what Bear is telling it. Any way to write in preview mode if you don’t want to use markdown?

1Writer is the best of several notes apps that I have tried as a mobile companion to NValt (Notational Velocity)on my Mac. But I had been looking around at different note apps hoping to find one that offered wiki style links, using paired square brackets, without success. But now that feature has come to 1Writer, so I don’t have to look elsewhere. Since that linking system works in NValt as well as 1Writer, I’ve basically got a plain-text database syncing between my Mac, my iPhone, and my iPad. Awesome!

Love the interface but it doesn’t always save completely

I love the interface but twice now it hasn’t saved my whole file. My document has 25k words in it and twice now after I close the program the last chapter of my book has been truncated. The first time I lost my text and had to rewrite it. Since then I’ve been copying and pasting the whole file into Pages before closing 1Writer. Today my latest chapter was once again truncated. My workaround is ok but I probably won’t write another book in 1Writer.

1Writer is my primary plain-text editor. It's clean and the file manager is excellent. I don't think there is a better product in this niche.

Dear developer; thanks for this amazing creation. there are few user experience enhancements need; in addition to script builder keyboard shortcut (think of javascript completion in the form of keywords icons). please add syntax highlight support for javascript and other languages. , - Add a side button to control the screen in addition the right swap (typing mode/next to keyboard and normal mode; don’t hide keyboard after doing actions in typing mode); which in turn : - ease the access to app settings - go back and forward between open documents - Make navigation of files more ergonomic - add switcher action group (requires an ability for the user to create and customize action groups) - other suggestions: - fix install of action from the app official website , it’s painful to have to copy paste code individually - make maintaining user actions easier by providing a method to create actions from a js file. hope this gets done soon; am a big support to this amazing application. love to see it evolve and grow as the best app for mobile editing. PS: external cloud support is a key feature

1. When I press `edit` button in preview mode, it shows the section where I was in edit mode. In most cases, I want to edit what I am previewing. So It would be convenient & reasonable to show the `edit` section same with preview mode. And vice versa. Please update the sync of page between two modes. 2. In iPhone XR, With bluetooth keyboard connected and landscape mode, it is very hard to scroll the bottom tool button by finger because it enables the home button action of iPhone XR, Please add the right and left arrow to allow the scroll of tool button by tapping it.
