A REVIEW WORTH WRITING!

E.j.Teegarden

As a medical student, I have literally installed, learned, and exhausted, close to thirty (30) 'note taking/annotate type apps." While they all seemed to offer there own strong benefit, they all lacked certain features offered in other apps. However with ZoomNotes, all these features are not just included in one non-glitchy app, it provides numerous features that are 'outside the box' not found ANYWHERE else. In giving a proper pro and con type review, I will advise you of this one needed headache saving caution: IF YOU PURCHASE THIS APP (worth more than its price in so many ways), BE PREPARED TO SPEND SOME TIME LEARNING ITS FEATURES WITH THE HELPFUL TUTORIALS PROVIDED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE IT. While this 'con' is really the only downside, it is also only natural to do with an app that offers so much. "I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP!" - E.J.

Amazing app.

No other note taking app handles zoom like this one... truly unique and well thought out. This note taking software is pretty amazing. The infinite zoom and pages-within-pages feature make it very versatile... it really matches the way I think in terms of how I organize information in my mind. I also love the option to scale the pen size down as you zoom - keeping the appearance of the pen the same at all zoom levels. What’s amazing is the combination of huge zoom ranges and very smooth and fluid ink. Very few apps have as nice a response as this one when it comes to making marks on the page. The software is clearly being actively developed and I think this is a great solution for both note-taking and classroom instruction! I wish more people knew about this app! Amazing so far. As noted, the area that needs work is the interface, which does not follow iOS conventions and can be a bit difficult to work with - it could benefit from reorganization and redesign to make better use of space, prevent some issue with clutter, button visibility, palette overlap, and some other related issues.

ZoomNotes is the best I have seen. I wish I could sync with my phone like Apple Notes.

Works Great Now!

Update: I had a problem with using the pen function. Turns out it was a setting. The developer pointed this out, and changing that setting fixed it! I'm a happy camper now! BTW, I use Zoomnotes to study Chinese characters. I simply create decks of study cards, and export them from Dropbox to Zoomnotes. Zoomnotes excels as a study platform. I can flip through the study cards, and trace over the characters I need to practice. It doesn't get any better than that!

Excellent!!!!!

This is the second review I’ve ever written for an app (and I’ve downloaded my fair share over the years), but I had to write this review. ZoomNotes is feature rich and worth the small amount of effort it takes to explore and learn how everything works. I’ve downloaded nearly every major note taking app in the AppStore and think this one is the best! This app does more than mimic writing on paper. It actually allows you to use all of the benefits of a tablet (zooming, scaling, rearranging notes and imported objects, shape recognition, sub-notes, image and video import, etc.) to create a truly unique writing/researching experience. Being able to import an entire PDF as a sub-note is amazing! This app is a joy to use, highly customizable, and allows me to research and take notes in a way that matches the way I think. If I had it in grad school, I’m pretty sure my thesis would have taken half as long! Big thanks to the developer(s)!!! Keep up the great work!!! Maybe you could add handwriting to text conversion? It’s certainly not critical, but it would be a killer feature that would make a truly amazing app that much more so.

Incredibly versatile note taking and art tool

The title says it all for me. This is a fantastic app.

Love it even more

Been using ZoomNotes for years. Recently replaced my old iPad 2 with an iPad Pro 12.9” and got an Apple Pencil. At that time, I considered switching to a different note app, but none were as compelling as ZoomNotes. The writing experience is fantastic. I can write just as well as on actual paper, resting my hand on the screen. And the couple times that I had a support question, they were very responsive.

Very useful!

My notes are almost always accessible!

The MacGyver of Notebook/Sketchnoting/Presentation apps. Good but not yet Great

ZoomNotes has a lot of features and executes a number of those features adequately but some features need to be much better or great to make a mark and dethrone other apps. BAD: Then there is the bug that when you change the settings to put the Main Tool Bar on the Bottom of the Screen the Palm Rejection now pulls down from the Top of the Screen, thus making Palm rejection unusable. The Tools, Menus the organization / layout and design has to be much better, it is confusing where to find tools. GOOD: Lots of Import/Export Cloud options, including: WebDAV. - Digital Notebook/Planner - GOOD: Layers, Infinite Zoom, Lots Pens, Lots of Color options; BAD: PDFs with hyperlinks, the hyperlinks disappear / not imported to ZoomNotes. - Sketchnoting - GOOD: Lots of Pen, Pencil and Brushes choices, Shapes, and really good Shape Tools/Guides. - Presentation/Whiteboard - GOOD: Can embed videos like Prezi or Explain Everything; Bad: Needs an easier way to playback presentations or a separate viewer. Overall I love the app; fix the bug palm rejection it is 4 Star app; organize the menus it is 5 Star app.

A great note taking app. It has so many features. Be prepared to invest some time to learn how to use it. A few things that I would like to see: * Search handwriting, like GoodNotes * Export a ZoomNotes’s sub page to be its own page in ZoomNotes * Import pointers to documents, so that one document can be edited from multiple notes.
