Amazing app. I use daily for instruction

fungusamongus

No other note taking app handles zoom like this one... truly unique and well thought out. This note taking software is pretty amazing. The infinite zoom and pages-within-pages feature make it very versatile... it really matches the way I think in terms of how I organize information in my mind. I also love the option to scale the pen size down as you zoom - keeping the appearance of the pen the same at all zoom levels. What’s amazing is the combination of huge zoom ranges and very smooth and fluid ink. Very few apps have as nice a response as this one when it comes to making marks on the page. The software is clearly being actively developed and I think this is a great solution for both note-taking and classroom instruction! I wish more people knew about this app! Update 6/5/18 The app continues to improve and be actively developed. This is really the only thing I need for teaching and personal note taking. Keep up the good work! Amazing so far. As noted, the area that needs work is the interface, which does not follow iOS conventions and can be a bit difficult to work with - it could benefit from reorganization and redesign to make better use of space, prevent some issue with clutter, button visibility, palette overlap, and some other related issues.

Many things are terrific

neverlistenagain

The writing experience in terms of choosing pens, colors, and page distribution is really nice. Just to let you know, I am person who likes big letters. I would like to have better editor functions, like on a pc: Listed files, word search, cutting and pasting different texts together and all texts arranged in files and folders. The latter is already the case, but can be improved.

Truly all in one

This app is the most comprehensive and easy to use notetaking app, out of all of them available for ios. Before trying, I read a review that suggested to buy the full version because it was worth it. After reading through the documentation, I realized that even if it was buggy I would want to show my support to these developers because of the direction it seemed to be going in. So, I didn't bother with the free version, and have since had the pro version - sooo worth it. Notability has it beat in raw power, but this has many many more options for doing anything you want - can even insert video into your notes, and create animations. Infinite whiteboard is incredible - zooming is fast, and can quickly create detailed layered biochem pathways and link to relevant medications from a different page. Best app for this type of studying/notetaking. The app also feels very lightweight (does not eat up memory or lag). There are some bugs still, especially with the desktop companion version, but everything is compatable. 5 solid stars for a great product at a totally fair price.

Freedom!

cdr219

ZoomNotes is great. Freedom to create, record, organize, and document all sorts of disparate ideas. Features like the tags, Dropbox, and sync'ing btw iPhone and iPad. Layers! Audio! Layers! Slideshows! Layers! Evernote! I likey! An oasis in a desert of inadequate note-taking apps. Just waiting for the desktop version to round-out all its delicious goodness.

Not impressed

arnolbg

Big mistake buying the app and not trying the free one first! Could not resize inserted picture, so I had to delete the app and reinstall it. Resizing worked for two pictures and now it has stopped working again.

Most effective note taking app

John25642

This is the most versatile note taking app I have found. I use it for all my note taking. I really like the ability to insert handwritten notes with pdf files, including adding pages etc. It takes a bit to get used to all the features but it is well worth the effort. The ease of zooming in and out and writing in the margins of PDF files is also very handy. Still very happy with it. I love the infinite whiteboard option. It really feels like having a large whiteboard where you can write anywhere. It’s also great for annotating a pdf file when you need to write more than just minor comments. This continuous to be my favorite note taking app. One of the features of traditional writing and note taking is that you can spread out multiple sheets of paper in front of you. This allows you to keep a good overview of what you are working on. I really missed this aspect of physical notes when I switched to my iPad. However, the whiteboard mode with infinite zoom of ZoomNotes allows me to effectively have a virtual desk with many sheets of handwritten notes. (Tip: lay out a grid of letter size boundaries on your whiteboard before starting to take notes. You can easily fit 25 pages that way. Well, of course you could do millions but you want to mimic a physical desk.)

Unintuitive

Flying MD

One of the most unintuitive and IOS "unlike" interfaces I have ever used. Stick to Noteshelf 1 (not the new version NS2). This thing may be feature rich but the interface is so cluttered that it is difficult to "take notes!"
