Just updated my Wink Hub 2 and now the lights responds very slowly. They usually respond immediately but now it takes several seconds to turn on or off. Sometimes they don’t respond at all and I have to tap the icon a second time. Not liking that. Update: it seems to have corrected itself. I rebooted my modem, router and the wink hub shortly after the update last night and it responded very slowly but by this morning, it was working normally again… Good news!

My son usually does this kind of SMART installation but he was unavailable this time. Initially I had difficulty in connecting to the hub2. My guess is that I was trying to connect too soon after power it up. It may have still been booting up? That was late at night. The next day I decided to give Wink Customer Service a call before I tried it again. Got Hannah with Wink on the line and did not have any connectivity issues. She helped me set it up and add devices. She was very friendly and helpful. This is how Customer Service should always be. I recommend. 64 in CA.

I have been using Wink Hub 2s at 4 locations the past 4 years. I have 25+ z-wave locks and multiple light bulbs. I run AirBnBs and need the remote functionality. The recent iOS issue is still a problem and I am having to close and reopen the app each time I put in a new code or attempt to lock or unlock the app. For the first time I am looking at other platforms. But, I would also like to see the following changes that are long overdue: 1- Desktop interface. It’s just easier and sometimes your phone is dead or inaccessible. Plus bigger screen can be faster. 2- Face ID and ability to keep me logged in. Constantly having to enter my password on each and every lock every other day is crazy. 3- Enter the same code on multiple locks on a hub all at once. Give me the ability to bring up a hub, enter the name and code once, and select which locks on the hub to apply it to. 4- Abandon “robots” and come up with better “if this then that” interface and possibilities. 5- Remotely be able to tell hub to reboot. 6- Sleeker app interface with ability to add photos of locations, grouping devices by hub/location, etc. Thank you for listening.


Where’s the Home Sitter?

Need to be able to activate the Home Sitter feature from a robot or shortcut. I want to press 1 button to say I’m away and set the temp, turn on alarms, and activate Home Sitter. There’s no way to do that. Meh.

I have owned the Iris system and Smart Things and Wink Technical help is by far the best. So far the Wink hub 2 has worked great. The only suggestion I would have is to make the app easier to navigate and add more features. But as far as the system it has worked great and their support far exceeds others.

I recently moved so I had to build a new smart location to work with Wink. I also had my mobile phone stolen in the process. This led to confusion and I inadvertently created a second account causing me to lose connection with my Wink 2 hub. I emailed Wink support and got an immediate response and had my account restored in a very short time. KUDOS to David and Wink. I’ve used Wink for about three years now and find it the best app for bringing all of my various smart vendors to heel under one control platform. I hope Wink can continue to pioneer this open zigbee approach to smart home automation.

Flawed 3-Time

My Wink Hub-1 went out of service after a update, & I had to update to the Wink-2... WINK sent me the new Hub-2 & were phenomenal on helping me on getting the new system up and running.... The customer service representatives had to help me for hours.... Everyone that I had to work with, were very knowledge @ there jobs...Thanks again WINK.....
