BEST EVER!!!

Cam the C-dog

I’ll update this later in more detail... but your app is the BEST... I SERIOUSLY MEAN BEST... of every other weather app I’ve ever known and downloaded in the last 7 years! Everything from data sources, detailed info, everything for a weather nerd as myself... almost could be a meteorologist lol! I’m a geologist so love everything related to Earth’s science... I’ll post an update later... but need to say THANK YOU for the best app EVER! ? Thank everybody that aided in developing your app Once I’ve available funds... I seriously wish to contribute as much as possible to the developers! FYI... this is the first review I’ve EVER submitted for an app... so everyone should now understand my love of this app!

Simply the best

The most intuitive and visually communicating weather app out there

Best weather app for adventure motorcyclists

I’ve been looking for a weather app that shows rain, snow, temp, wind as well as current radar and satellite for a long time now. This is the only one that does it. If you need to make decisions based on weather for a hobby such as long distance motorcycle touring this is the one.

Didn’t like where it was going even though I have a weather station there. They never took my date to improve my local forecast! - I find windy to have more options from different forecasting sources. Yeah me of which mirrors very closely to what my weather actually was. HOOKED

Windy is by far the most useful app for weather geeks

Most apps will give you radar and a basic sun, clouds and precipitation forecast. Very few tell you where that forecast came from or offer you 4 forecasts in one app. Also, the configurability of Windy is great, you want wind vectors, great, you want isobars, great, you want temperature colors, awesome and there are many more options you can put on or take off the map. Also, you can “play” out the forecast of each model all the way to the end, which is helpful in finding out the differences between the forecasts and why wind speed or precipitation differs from one to the other. There are many positives to this app, but the last point I’ll mention is that it includes the European model that reportedly costs money and is not available in many other weather apps for that reason. It’s also considered to be one of the most accurate forecasts available. My criticism is mostly about bugs. One is that when dragging the time bar forward, it sometimes gets detached from the forecast, which makes it impossible to forward or reverse to the end. The only way to fix it is completely reset or switch to another forecast and then back to the one you are trying to track. Another issue is that on the phone version, when you zoom out to see the wider map, ie from WA state to see the whole pacific, where our weather comes from, it frequently automatically resets the view. It does this for example when switching forecasts, but it also happens other times and is annoying. That said, it’s faults don’t detract significantly from the fact that it’s the best weather app out there.

temp off by 6C / 11F. not usable

edit 2: i can’t provide that because i stopped using your app whenever your first developer response came through. the situation was your app said it was 20C outside, but it was actually 26C. weather from duckduckgo and google reported 26C. it felt like 26C. but all day long your app reported it was actually 20C outside on all three weather models. 6C is a BIG discrepancy. the rest of the week also showed consistently incorrect temperatures. it’s not a usable weather app if it doesn’t report actual, right-now, real-time weather data with *some* degree of accuracy, no matter how imprecise by definition future predictions may be. edit: 1 star. basically all weather apps don’t use their own prediction models. most american weather services take data straight from the national weather service and repackage it under their own branding. but when that happens, the forecasts are all pretty much the same and fairly accurate. but the windy app, which offers *3* different prediction models from different sources on different continents, still somehow manages to be consistently incapable of reporting the actual temperature. like, one would think that the real-time temperature data would be set to reported conditions by default. but no, apparently according to the developer response they continue to show you the *prediction*, even if it’s 6/11 degrees off, because reasons. sorry windy, this is a terrible response. “thank you for understanding”. ive already moved on to weather up, which manages to be more accurate while giving less information. original: 2 stars. i downloaded windy after abandoning TWC’s downgrade of the wunderground app. windy could be great, but multiday forecasts are not shown by default and cannot be set to display on app launch. i live in los angeles, where wind conditions and radar maps are basically useless and redundant 300 days a year. i need to see an accurate forecast for the next few days. that’s it. so i figured i could ignore the main app and just rely on the home screen widget. that would be totally fine for me, since the widget displays a lot of useful info in a small space. but the actual temperature predicted by windy was off by a full 6 degrees celsius. i cant determine what i should wear if the forecast is off by that much. the default weather app, wunderground and twc are steaming piles of ad-stuffed defecation, but at least their temperature predications are basically accurate. how come yours is still way off the mark even when i switch between different models? something is screwy with your app and now i just cant trust it. so ill probably search “weather” on duckduckgo from now on since iOS is apparently not capable of hosting a single decent weather app.

Extremely informative but

The few things missing, for me, is a way to see the UV index, as I’m vitamin D deficient and knowing when the UV’s are at an appropriate level to soak up some sunshine is important... unless I’m not seeing it? Also, the app icon can use a tune up, looks bland, I didn’t even know it was a weather app... and the widget could blend in instead of stick out with that dark grey in dark mode, looks too bold... really that’s it, I enjoy it!
