temp off by 6C / 11F. not usable – Windy.com - Weather & Radar Review

edit 2: i can’t provide that because i stopped using your app whenever your first developer response came through. the situation was your app said it was 20C outside, but it was actually 26C. weather from duckduckgo and google reported 26C. it felt like 26C. but all day long your app reported it was actually 20C outside on all three weather models. 6C is a BIG discrepancy. the rest of the week also showed consistently incorrect temperatures. it’s not a usable weather app if it doesn’t report actual, right-now, real-time weather data with *some* degree of accuracy, no matter how imprecise by definition future predictions may be. edit: 1 star. basically all weather apps don’t use their own prediction models. most american weather services take data straight from the national weather service and repackage it under their own branding. but when that happens, the forecasts are all pretty much the same and fairly accurate. but the windy app, which offers *3* different prediction models from different sources on different continents, still somehow manages to be consistently incapable of reporting the actual temperature. like, one would think that the real-time temperature data would be set to reported conditions by default. but no, apparently according to the developer response they continue to show you the *prediction*, even if it’s 6/11 degrees off, because reasons. sorry windy, this is a terrible response. “thank you for understanding”. ive already moved on to weather up, which manages to be more accurate while giving less information. original: 2 stars. i downloaded windy after abandoning TWC’s downgrade of the wunderground app. windy could be great, but multiday forecasts are not shown by default and cannot be set to display on app launch. i live in los angeles, where wind conditions and radar maps are basically useless and redundant 300 days a year. i need to see an accurate forecast for the next few days. that’s it. so i figured i could ignore the main app and just rely on the home screen widget. that would be totally fine for me, since the widget displays a lot of useful info in a small space. but the actual temperature predicted by windy was off by a full 6 degrees celsius. i cant determine what i should wear if the forecast is off by that much. the default weather app, wunderground and twc are steaming piles of ad-stuffed defecation, but at least their temperature predications are basically accurate. how come yours is still way off the mark even when i switch between different models? something is screwy with your app and now i just cant trust it. so ill probably search “weather” on duckduckgo from now on since iOS is apparently not capable of hosting a single decent weather app.
