A very realistic game. I enjoy the Volvo Ocean Race the best. I’ve done better each time. It can get expensive but I just make sure I have the proper three sails. It won’t get me first place but I always end up in the 20s or 30s...thousand that is. Not bad for a race with well over 100,000 playing.

It's easy to use and super addictive. The options packs are too expensive at $25 per race but the free version is very usable.

I've been playing this game for many years and am happy to see the progress the developers have made in making it more engaging and fun. English still takes a back seat to French in many cases but it's much better than in the past. The 3D sailing view is pretty amazing and helps capture your imagination, and put you on the water.

I see others here complaining about spending $25 to be competitive. I disagree somewhat - Have used this 2 years now and have - with diligence been able to compensate for lack of sail options in large part. Went from 280k to 23k this race so far. Occasional issues on losing friends but if zoom in they reapppear. I'd like to see currents and Polars on the app - overall I think they've done a great job.
Like real sailing: Fun, but must pay to win

I've played this with and without the add-ons. Without the add-ons, it's possible to do well, but not to win. The paid improvement to sail inventory gives you more boat speed over a wider range of wind conditions, and automatic sail changes mean you won't wake up in the morning to discover your boat stalled for hours after an unexpected wind shift. So, much like real sailing, it takes a little bit of a checkbook to really compete.

Played this game about 5 years ago, but it was very frustrating, the phone app didn't work very well, really had to use computer version for fine control of boat. After that game, I simply stopped playing. Since then, yearly, I'd read the game reviews, which were uniformly poor, with much the same complaints about poor interface and control, but with this release the game has changed dramatically for the better. I paid for sail and race upgrades years ago, but really didn't matter as far as overall performance in the race, so while 3 D looks cool, I doubt it can add to your boat race performance. I can only hope that some day virtual reality sailboat racing might be possible. But dreaming aside, this game has finally redesigned and is fun to play. This time I'm participating, but simply for fun using basic sails, don't think I'll spring for any extras, as I doubt it will make much difference in outcome. To win a game of this sort it sort of demands a lot of time and strategy, much like the real thing. I'd be kidding myself again to think I could devote that much time to it. But much better interface- congratulations to developers for finally listening to their audience of players!

Very cool and extremely addictive game until it became a paying member. Then once the sprint Atlantic and Vendée globe and sodebo ended. I was no longer able to log on to the game and the last to yacht races I have not been able to join. This bothers me because I spent 20$ to buy the live boats around you feature turns out that twenty was only for one race. No the app as a whole glitches. I have deleted and redone loaded it but still no good. It's a shame because this REALLY REALL REALLY was a GTEAT game.

I enjoy the challenge to stay focused, navigate wind direction and use a little sailing knowledge. I enjoyed finishing the Vendee Globe and I am racing all three of the other races. The catamaran race I am racing free, I bought sails and navigation for the other three races.
