Verse manages to combine a great feature set with the rare ability to stay out of the way as you write. The export options are also first rate.

Great App... Better than other apps!!!

?????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This app is the best because you can write your own songs and poems and you can also write your own stories on this app. The cool thing about this app is you can save your stuff on the iCloud and that way you always have a backup with you wherever you go. I strongly recommend this app for people with special needs who love to write stories, poems and other stuff.... WAY TO GO, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

The developers seem to be receptive to feedback..

So I'm encouraged to leave an honest review for what it's worth to any one interested in this app (and more importantly in case the dev team is reading this review). Judging by their collection of apps, the developers of this iOS App collection are OBSESSED with the, "less is more," stylistic approach from a GUI/user interface standpoint. This is OKAY, but they could afford to have a more thorough layout of options & features without sacrificing the aesthetics of an over-simplified main menu/interface. Once you open a template or create a blank document, you are left with a (for the most part) distraction free canvas for your mental musings. However, the devs leave everything & anything you've ever used before any text editors & word processing apps to be configured (read: manually & meticulously navigating through a repetitive sequence of menu-opening and re-opening upon every customized feature you'd like for a single document or just standardized throughout EVERY document you use in this app...so...it's a Linux user's dream; to be given total dominion over software, which is good & bad depending on your personality I guess). I'm talking about literally being left to go find if you want to "enable spell checking" in your documents while writing. This may seem like a no-brained & I like the idea of going against the dictionary-grain etc., but shouldn't the default be to "disable" it? I think so, but that didn't rob the review from being 5/5 stars. Again, I really WANT this app to be what it's sometimes capable of being, and what it very obviously tries to be (judging by app description, screenshots used in App Store, as well as the WYSIWYG minimalism that the developers are -- as I said before -- OBSESSED with. I appreciate & encourage their approach by making that the key trait that sets their apps apart from the usual suspects that reign supreme but charge a criminal amount for such bulky, memory-killing software like the "Omni" team's shamelessly over-priced nonsense. I love that they are trying to take SCRIVENER, a fantastic desktop app that has ZERO business being on iOS, (but come on it's pretty great, right?), and making it a compatible version that robs you of very little and still packs the punch the desktop juggernaut of a word-processing app is famous for. I really do. It's what got me to skim through this developer's app releases and even purchase a few of them, this being one of them. As a songwriter who has longed for the text-editor-developer to carve a niche for my type of writing, this app was something I was actually super giddy to stumble upon in the App Store. I did the routine research we all do while vetting a potential app purchase, and I so badly wanted it to be not just what I wanted/hoped it would be, but what it flirts with being in reality. Seriously guys, you're SO close to making this app, (and the Markdown editor you offer as well, the other purchase I've made in this collection), from a 3 star app that I honestly debate carrying on my iPhone to save storage -- which is an issue when it's a 64GB phone and the app takes up hardly any space relative to countless others -- to a 4 or 5 star app that delivers. Right now this is perfect for those who aren't interested in being impressed or pleasantly surprised upon discovering, purchasing, and using said software. To the rest of us who are hoping the dev(s) rise to the challenge of making a massive step towards the front page/lots of customers, this app will do anything that many ad-free text editing apps on the iOS App Store can do. So, do you want to spend a few bucks on this one just because it's marketed as a poetic or songwriter "type" of text editor, when in reality it's hardly different from others when you take away the name & icon? That's up to you. Thank you for reading.

Just OK

For a creative-writing app, I was expecting at least a way to look up synonyms, rhyming words, etc. Not here. I have lots of writing apps and this is nothing out of the ordinary.

I just bought this and it is useless. Use a notebook. Better yet sharpen a pencil and do a page of paper a blessing! Gaud this is such a ripoff. It suggests help in HAIKU writing, which I wanted my granddaughter to experience...NOTHING. This is just a formatting app and a $ maker for ? APPle GET RID OF THIS RIPOFF. Who writes the reviews? Cousins and employees. Crap what a faulted system. DO NOT BUY THIS
