This app is horrible. It is slow. There is no reason for this underwhelming app to exist! Customer support is via email only. There is no phone support which is absolutely crazy. Good luck if you have a complex issue. They have no replacement parts in stock in case their cheap parts break. They told me I need to wait for a replacement part after somebody sends in a warranty unit! This is a horrible business model. I do not recommend this company at all because of their customer support model.

Updated after two years of having it. So much regret. It would be less painful to just throw a few hundred dollars into the wind and watch it fly away. Never touching unifi again with a ten foot pole.

Isn’t UI a publicly traded company with billions of dollars? Hire some decent iOS developers and TEST before releasing garbage like this to the public. UniFi Protect has a LONG way to go before I’d recommend it to friends or businesses.

I’ve used this app for over a year now and everyday it seems to get worse. Right now it’s been unusable for a few months because it randomly crashes or resets to the Home Screen (every time I use it) of the app so looking at the feed is impossible. Do not give this company your money.

Would be nice to be able to temporarily suspend smart alerts. For example if I am in my yard working I don’t want constant alerts. Would also be nice to allow smart detection alerts to break through sleep/DND. Update for version 1.5.6: New UI is HORRIBLE! When viewing a camera in the timeline, the camera footage is at the very top of the screen. iPhones have curved displays and a notch at the top, which obscures a portion of the footage. Did the developers actually use this version before releasing it??? Also, please fix setting the begin and end points when saving a video. It now defaults to an hour long clip. I often want to save a couple minutes of video and it is EXTREMELY difficult to move the sliders on the timeline. The part you have to tap on is basically on the edge of the screen and it usually takes me 15-20 tries before i can actually tap on it. I guess this is another case of nobody actually using the app before it was released.

Frustrating *edit - I shouldn’t have to reach out to the developer with my issues when it’s very obvious everyone is having issues. This is a problem. Please fix this across the board and allow all of us to access our cameras.
Video playback control is worthless now

It was okay until the video playback update. Add the skip to previous/next event buttons. Get rid of the tap to bring up the play, pause, rewind 10s and fast forward 10s button. Also when you tap to bring these buttons up it darkens the video an makes it difficult to see what you are skipping forward/reverse to.
Constant need to logout and login

Every time I open the app I’m greeted with a nearly empty screen that just says “Logged in locally”. The only way I can get my cameras to show up is to log out and re-authenticate. I should be able to open the app after a day or two and see my cameras without having to re-login, this is ridiculous!
