Bait and switch

I’m U.S. military, based in Japan. I tried to book a flight back to the states for my son’s graduation. When you use the service, Trip.com say’s they have the lowest price. When you try to book it, their service says the seat is sold and asks if you want to search again. I clicked yes, they said they again have a seat but for a few dollars more. So I tried to book it. Same thing, sorry it was sold. They ask if I want to search again, sure I’ll give it a shot. Yep, the seat is available for purchase. The flight is more expensive than what the Direct airline is charging but at this point I just want to be done. I buy the ticket. Now I’m on my way to the airport and I print off my information from only to find that the tickets are for two days later! I contacted the company who initially tell me not to worry that they can fix it at the Airport and that they will have someone contact me. The Airline can’t do anything for me because I bought from a third party. I miss my flight. I contact the company again and they tell me that I have to wait for someone from ticketing to contact me to see about switching my tickets and to have IT look into the issue of the date change. I get a reply from them saying that there was no error but that I purchased passage on the wrong date. They would like to help me change the date for $650!! Are you kidding?! The initial flight was $790. How can the price be so high? Customer service while very polite, is non existent. You can’t call in and talk to someone that can help, you get the run-around and they just repeat what was on the last email that was sent to you. I was surprised because they are rated a high. I won’t book with anyone other than the direct airline at this point. I certainly cannot recommend Trip.com!

International transaction fee

Horácio 79

When I bought tickets using this app I had the impression that the company was located in US but after finalizing the payment, the bank charged me $120 for international transaction fee. After calling customer service I realized that the company is located in Asia. Please be aware of this in case you want to use this app/website

Unfortunate experience

Nas34$7

I booked flights on this website then i had to cancel it. The website doesnt give enough info about the cancellation so i called the customer service they said if the ticket is not issued we can refund if it is issued already you have to pay 50 dollars. Apparently it is 50 per person. What bothers me is that first they issued my ticket to get 50 dollars per person then cancelled my ticket. What an integrity!!! I would not recommend any company trying to make money like this. Definitely will not use their service again.

Nice App

Very convenient to use ! Can easily buy tickets and receive instantly or in a short period of time. Been using it for about a year and bought some cheap tickets

Rebooking with Ctrip is just a nightmare!

radinaa

The worst possible agent to book a flight. We had to cancel our flight due to an emergency. Rebooking the flight was a real nightmare. I have called the customer service more than 10 times and I was told that an agent will call me back with prices for other flights (I still don’t understand how they can’t that over the customer service line and why I should wait indefinite amount of time for another call). Now, 3 days later their agents still can’t figure out how much it is going to cost to change the flights. In other words it takes them 3 days (and still no confirmation) to figure out a simple price - something that usually takes seconds. If a person needs to change for the next day it is impossible. The staff (the agents who call back) don’t speak fluent English and the whole process is rediculous. Nothing compared to Expedia or any other travel agency. If you want a smooth booking NEVER use Ctrip! The great paradox - day three - got a call from the agent in the morning (asking for flights that I am interested in. Even though that I have provided that information more than 10 times with their customer service department). Anyway, they write down the flights and tell me that they are going to call me back later with prices (they confirm that there is availability in the given flights). 5 hours later, they call back to tell me that they have a price but it is not longer valid because there is no availability in the given flights. They tell me that they can check for business class but it will take some time and will call me back again. My simple thought is - ok, when they call would their price be valid this time or the flight would have become unavailable by then? As I said the whole process of rebooking is a bureaucracy paradox. They call to tell you that they will call again to give you a price. And when they call again same things happens again and again. Sounds like Catch 22... Ctrip you better figure out your own processes and use a simple logic so that you avoid such situations! One call should be more than enough to make a rebooking.... That would have been acceptable maybe 20 years ago...

Lazy Service Reps.

I made a mistake with my booking and asked the trip.com agent to help me communicate with the airline they refuse to help. Next time I will use any service besides trip.com. Nothing new about the app except annoying notifications to let you know when you’ve chosen filters. App gets worse and worse!

Terrible and unclear customer service

Aprills

My flight was canceled which I proceeded to call the call center to say that I want a refund. The agent said okay, the refund will be 809 yuan. When I called again later, they then refused to issue the refund because I did not reply one email they claim it was “crucial” despite the fact that I called and said clearly I wanted the refund. The reason they’re standing behind now is that the refund window is only 3 days and it’s just too bad I missed the email. They honestly have no other way to communicate to this “crucial” matter than just sending you ONE email that wasn’t clear or informative about this 3 days rule. I’m so disappointed. Trip.com should have handled this better otherwise this is just a loophole for the company to get money from the customers. The call quality is terrible & None of the people works there is helpful and understanding towards the issue. Please don’t book via trip.com.

The Competition Is Far Better!

One of the worst apps and company ever. Horrific customer service. If you call in, don’t expect any answers or solutions but just long waits and “accidental” phone hang ups.
