The ability to add dark mode is sorely missing. As well as the ability to edit how you want the sections laid out. It’s like looking at the ghost of former great newspaper.

I really enjoy the app. It works consistently well. I would really love a night mode option though!

I pay $14.15 a month for this, which isn’t trivial. I should not have to see 6-7 advertisements per article, every 2-3 paragraphs. And a lot of times it’s the same ad multiple times in the same article. It looks like I’m reading something from a sketchy website, not from one of the most renowned newspapers. Please please please get rid of these ads or charge a different amount if that’s what it takes. I cannot take it any more.
Feature request: follow writers

The Wall Street Journal app allows users to follow any writer and get a notification when an article is published by them. If the NYTimes adds this feature I’ll change my rating to 5 stars.
Honest fair and balanced news source

Today more than ever we need a fair and balanced news source that reports the truth not putting forth opinion as fact. The NYT has been guilty of biased reporting in the past but I personally feel that they are learning from their past mistakes and recognizing their responsibility in helping dig America out of the chaos we find ourselves living through right now. They are far from perfect and some of the reporting is heavily biased but they have come a long way from the peddling only the lefts version of events that turned me off for so many years. I would give it four stars but the lack of dark mode is a big issue for me. Telling your readers to enable night shift mode is a cop out for fixing a poor reading experience. Add dark mode will make this a solid 4 star app. Bring in even more conservative perspective and you have five stars. Overall though keep up the good work. I applaud the direction NYT is moving in. Our country desperately needs fair and balanced reporting right now.

The lack of dark mode really detracts from the experience. I often avoid using the app due to this unacceptable omission. Also, the free public articles (covid etc.) ignore the selected font size - the font is way too small

App is now the worst news app in existence 1. No dark mode! This bright white is NOT acceptable. DEAL BREAKER 2. Lack of navigation options - very primitive and frustrating user interface. DEAL BREAKER 1/26/2021 - now even worse. Now there is NO navigation options for sections att al. NONE. How much more backwards can this app get?????
