Never refunded my saved change

Kevvinnnrrr

It took months to build only $32 and I felt my money was trapped in the changed account, I cancelled the account and never refunded my saved change..I guess that’s how they make some of their money..they keep everyone’s saved change who cancels their account...

Garbage

This app is complete garbage! It comes disconnect from my bank daily and has $60 I can’t transfer. It’s a scam!

Great concept, but had issues

I saw this app on Shark Tank, it seemed awesome and I was excited for it. Downloaded it, went through the whole set up process and everything. After a month my loan servicer/provided still wasn’t linked. I messaged support and all they did was walk me through how to connect, which I already know how to do. My federal loans are consolidated, it wouldn’t allow me to pick the 1 loan....it listed every single loan I had, which makes it hard to choose and type in all the correct info. I finally just wanted to cancel my account and get my money out. They canceled my next round-up dispersement which was fine, and said they would provide a way for me to get my money out. Well I still haven’t been able to get my money out and I even had to unlink my bank acct bc it kept taking round-ups and I don’t want to use the app anymore....I just want my money out!!!!! I will use a different app I found.

Nice idea but not for those on immediate spending

I love the concept, but I’d rather have a daily payout instead of needing to wait until $5 have been accumulated. The first deposit amount was small, but got too large to consider the app worth it, seemed larger than $5, but could be wrong. Almost needing to catch up with larger deductions. Not sure if it would be $5 after, but I hate the way amounts looked in my account. If you could find a way to round up amounts daily, I’d be all in!

Great

Great app!

Poor customer service

kz875

I initially loved the app but was very disappointed with customer service. A few months in I changed banks, and my new bank was not supported. I emailed customer service and they told me they would work on getting the connection up so I could continue to use the app with my new account. After three months of waiting and no progress I decided to close out my ChangEd account. I received notification the account would be closed and my balance on the app would be refunded to my bank account in 3-5 business days. That was over three weeks ago and I am still waiting to get my money back.

The best app out there

I downloaded ChangEd and it is the best app I have ever gotten. Even though I was not too sure about it I linked my accounts and just let it take the round ups I authorized. Now it is not even a year later and it has made 11 payments of $100 each to my loan. I cannot say thank you enough to the people who started this app. If I keep going I will pay off a student loan for my son that was for 10 years in 3. I am very grateful.

Used for 2 years. Don’t really understand the point.

I’ve been using this app for two years now. Like a billion other apps out there, it takes you’re “spare change” and puts it towards something else like savings, investments, but in this case, paying down your student loans. OK, pretty good idea. Although at the time I saw this on Shark Tank, I remember thinking it was a bit derivative of the app Acorns, which as far as I could tell, was the first of its kind (could be wrong on that.) But whatever, everything is derivative. Here’s why it seems pretty much pointless. It takes on average 3-4 months to build up the “change” to $100, at which point the payment is sent to your loan provider. But all this does is reduce your coming loan payment due by $100. So when you log in to your loan provider, you need to have the discipline and savviness to pay $100 more than what it says is due. Otherwise, you’re not paying down your loans any faster than you would have been. You’re just redirecting the money you would have already been paying through a third party (ChangEd) who then takes a $1 monthly fee before sending where it was already going in the first place. Considering most people do not pay more than, or have auto pay set up to only pay what’s due, that makes this app just a middleman. I remember realizing this early on, and then trying to close my account. But at the time all they had was a number to call. That’s usually a pretty good rule of thumb: if you made an app and didn’t go a few extra days—or even hours— on dev to build in “account close” functionality, I’m going to have a hard time trusting you. Making users jump through even a single hoop to close their account is just a bad look. It appears “close account” is now available in the app, however, it doesn’t work for me. It just says my account has no email on file, so i need to email their support. Hoop. It probably has something to do with the fact that i log into ChangEd with Google integration. For whatever reason the app doesn’t pull my email address from that integration. This also doesn’t allow me to use TouchID to log in. When i try, it just says “we couldn’t find your account”. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve yet to experience an app that has “Login with Google” and Traditional log in/TouchID available, but which only allows you to use one or the other. Clunky. Then there were just a few petty design things that annoyed me. For the longest time, the icons at the bottom of the app (Home, Account, etc) were butted right up against the edge, i.e. there was no padding. Looks like that has been fixed. But speaking of no padding, the app icon has the same annoying issue: the little squirrel illustration is right up against the edge of the app icon borders. I need some negative space! All in all, it’s not a completely useless app if you can discipline yourself to pay beyond what your loan says is due after ChangEd sends the $100. But I’d rather not have it. I would have closed my account well over a year ago. No, i will not call or email support to do so, just on principle. Build it into the app. Make your “Log in with Google” functionality behave like traditional login. So i’ll just keep this app around kind of existing in the background, because I have about a year left until my loans are paid off. At which point, I can only hope ChangEd doesn’t make me call or email someone and just closes my account automatically. When it’s all said and done, here’s what ChangEd did for me: stepped in between me and my student loan provider, took the money I was already going to pay toward my loans, and chopped it up into little pieces, then put it into some holding account on their servers, then sent in $100 increments to my loan provider, whilst charging me $1 a month to do so. So again I say, not sure what the point is.

Great app

I love the app! The only reason I gave it four stars was because there isn't a direct line for customer service.

Problem with payment

**Joanna**

I have been using this app for over a year and love it. Never once did I have any issue with receiving a payment, even when I switch back and forth from service providers. However, since the recent update, I have yet to see a payment post that was sent on 8/21. I reached out to customer service and got an initial response, but no follow up to my replies. Still no payment either.
