Still not great

I tried using this application a few years ago. It was not easy to set up with the required packages and links to a users general include files. This one is no better. It balked at simple commands (\usepackage, \ifndef) and has little documentation on these sorts of issues.
Overall not mad at it. But can not replace laptop

The backup options are extremely limited. You cannot even sync with iCloud. Also the duel panel (.tex on left and live view on right) does not work 99% of the time. So you basically have write all the .tex out and then view it in full screen. I would say once these 2 issues are fixed, I can see myself fully transition onto my iPad
I would buy this twice...

I am very impressed with this application. The interface and functionality are very good. I use it almost daily for a wide range of documents and it’s been fantastic.
Needs Quality of Life Improvements

This app really is great. Being able to work on homework and papers on my iPad has been super. The app even compiles quicker than my laptop that has a intel 8750-H. However, there are some key quality of life improvements that need to be made that I’ve noticed so far. Firstly, when I type a curly bracket {, it auto fills the other side being }. However if the next character is the close bracket, and I type it instead of using the one already provided, it will do something like {}}. It will also do this with parenthesis and $ used for the inline math environment. I wish it wouldn’t replicate these characters if the next character after the cursor is that character (this is what other text editor solutions automatically do). Additionally, I use my apple keyboard to type on my iPad. Thus when I want to use the prediction that auto fills, I wish I could use the arrow keys along with tab in order to choose which selection I want to use. Lastly, DARK MODE PLEASE. This is a must and would make the editor so much easier to use for longer durations. The file browser solution could also look prettier and be easier to use - but that is something minute for me.

I just recently purchased this app after having come from being a longtime TexPad user on macOS. I was surprised to see how fluent the interface is for iPadOS. I was very skeptical before making this purchase, but the software itself is pretty seamless in terms of writing LaTeX markup code and churning up documents. However, I do have two key criticisms that I think would vastly improve the quality of this app. First, this needs to be more compatible with more cloud storage services. I use Google Drive for most of my professional documents and being unable to save and access documents I have saved in the cloud is very inconvenient. I have my Google Drive linked into the Files app on my iPad Pro and yet it still will not allow me to connect to it through that avenue as well. Secondly, making it easier to store commonly used files (e.g., .sty style sheets and conference proceedings templates) would be a major improvement. It’s available on the macOS version of TexPad and I would love to have it featured here as well.

The app fails at the one thing it should deliver: typeset latex files. So I don’t see any reason the $20 app should be awarded any star. It fails at including pdf files using pdflatex and keeps complaining there is no BoundingBox to my pdf figures. Heck, I cannot even switch to pdflatex as a typesetter. When I tried to make the choice in the preference menu, I was switched back to ConTeXT. By the same means I cannot select to use BibTeX. Which brings me to bibliography. It does not work. I contacted customer service and was asked to provide a minimal working example. Well, I took a small chunk of my manuscript and the figure inclusion worked! The app is not even consistent enough to reproduce its own bugs. So i don’t even know how to communicate with the cunstomer service about this problem. And, bibliography still does not work via BibTeX. In conclusion, do not waste your $20!!!!

It is repeatedly crashing when I am trying to work on my paper. They should release an update that will take care of it.
Doesn’t work most of the time

Texpad is an easy to use app for both desktop and mobile devices. The editor is beautifully designed. The app, however, is terrible at compilation. Despite the aesthetic of the application, I’ve wasted so much of time on fixing compilation issues by having to manually use the command line to compile, that I’ve decided that this app is not worth the frustration. To the developers, please work on this. The issue seems to be with the cache of compiled documents.
