1) Everyone in the family with a linked phone can see the location of the car all the time. This needs an opt out: share location with A) primary phone B) all linked phones C) don’t share 2) the app uses gps, rather than Bluetooth, to auto-lock the doors. In order for auto lock to work you have to give the app (and therefore Tesla) access to your location Always, not just when you are using your app. It should use Bluetooth signal, possibly in addition to gps so the privacy concerned out their could use the app without Elon Musk tracking our every movement whether we were driving one of his cars or not. So I bought a key fob and disabled mobile access for the car. It is literally useless for me.
App worked on my iPhone 11 Pro Max flawlessly. Upgraded to iPhone 12 and now the add never refreshes unlesss I reinstall the app. Tried logging out, force closing nothing works. After install works for a bit then doesnt
Shame on Tesla. Total pile of crap here. Have to take my phone out of my pocket, wake it up and then open up App just to unlock my car... 2+ years to get this right. #FAIL
This app mostly works well. However, sometimes it doesn’t sense my phone and I have take out my phone and open the app. Also; when will we get a Apple Watch app version?
doesn’t unlock my car when i walk up to it with phone in my pocket
Just purchased model x one month ago and since then I’ve had several major issues with the vehicle and app including sentry mode issue when car was being broken into abd the window was shown to be open when not.
New iPhone 11 Pro Max. New carrier (T-Mobile). Tesla App: ability to setup phone as key — disabled. Read many forum posts on teslamotorsclub, no simple fix. (Note: a bunch of folks there think AT&T is the problem. But most of them seem to have this phone or other newer phones.) Completely unable to use phone as a key. Contrast with old phone: Galaxy S7, & old carrier: VZW. Never had a problem. Not once. Conclusion: Tesla needs to test this and other phones in the forum and fix their software bugs. Until then this app is a brick — useless.
Tesla users with Apple Watch should be able to drive the car without iPhone!
Like the app. Good functionality. But utterly missing an Apple watch app.
