It works ok - can’t move pics / vids anymore

adv2k169

It’s fairly easy to use app and works well enough but I guess the recent update killed the ability to move photos and videos around in a post . I used to be able to drag a picture or video around and now I can’t do that anymore. I can’t even drag photos or videos to trash , so it’s very limited . Sometimes photos won’t load properly after you upload them too . I’m using ios 11.3 , 8+ so I shouldn’t have any problems with processing or anything. It’s also slow to load pictures for a slide show too . I like it allot but it seems like for every step forward they go two back .

This app hasn’t changed in years. Since they seem to have so little interest in it, they should abandon it, enable third party markdown and let us all use something that works ten times better. Also I wouldn’t call it an “iPhone X update” when all they did was put huge black bars in the top and bottom of the app and sandwich the smaller version of the app between them. You’d think with all the money Squarespace makes ($16/month!) they’d be developing faster that all the one man apps in the App Store.

Getting Better with Each Update

Windows 10 Build

Checked back in with this app after some time off and it worked well during my last trip. The addition of gallery blocks helped a bunch and I’m loving the multi tasking. Now if I could only work offline that would be great. Keep up the good work and thanks so much. Cheers.

Surprisingly great

I still hope for a fully native Squarespace experience that just syncs changes to the web when I'm done safely tinkering in my local app on the platform of my choosing. That said, this app is capable of handling a standard blog post with most of the Squarespace features I need, and that is a great start. Hopefully it will expand to static pages!

OMG Image Block support! Finally!

Thank you for listening!!!!

When I save it says failed

I wrote a blog using the app, attached a video I had edited and when I click done, then save as draft or save its flashes a black screen at the top and says “Failed” Why isn’t this working?

Gallery blocks!...Almost

I was very excited to see the addition of gallery blocks in the latest release. Sadly, this feature isn't ready for actual use, for two reasons: First, when you try to select photos from your library to add it gives you an 'All Photos' sort of view, which means you can't see the dates of your photos. This is contrary to how the usual 'Add Photo' feature works, which gives you a 'Moments' type of view. This is far more preferable. I can't understand why they would change that. Worse, once I choose photos to add they start uploading. Great! A little progress indicator under each photo says they are uploading. But once they are done uploading a second spinning progress indicator appears on each photo. And just spins and spins. For minutes. I'd grown very happy with how stable this app has become, after years of glitchy behavior. This is a step backwards. I hope they are able to issue a bug fix soon. Finally, I'd really, really appreciate support for embedding YouTube videos using just text. It is quite laborious to have to add a Video block each and every time.

Deleted an entire post. Then crashed.

So I decided to take a chance despite the poor reviews. All I wanted to do was continue writing a post I had been working on, not add images or anything. I was going to save that for when I could get to a computer. I start writing and for some reason it is formatting with the header font. It's distracting so I try to change it. I can't. Whatever. I try to keep typing. I can't. I save the draft and reopen it. It's blank. Just the title remains. I quit the app and try to reopen hoping it was just a glitch. The app crashes. Needs major updating before I will risk trying it again. Will stick to google docs for now.

Great for Editing Blog Posts on the Go

AppleReviewsHasNicknameIssues

This app is great for editing and refining blog posts on the go. With my blogging style, I would not create new posts from it, but I love it for revising my existing posts. If you notice a typo it's way easier to open this app and fix than to find a computer, login, then edit. You can edit your tags, and other blog post settings and schedule your posts. Great app for bloggers on the go.

Just got less useful

The new update to this app is essentially a portal to a browser. I can no longer edit my blog post via the app, which essential renders it useless.
