Showtimes gets the honor of the absolute worst streaming app out there. Like others have said, it is that bad. So completely un-user friendly times the point of frustrating. From the layout to maneuvering around the app, it’s all bad.

I tried Showtime for a free trial and kept it until I was paying for it. Showtime forces you to watch ads for their other shows before EVERY episode of their programs. I cancelled today. I’m not paying AND watching ads. Back to HBO...

Please tell the dev team to pay attention to this because the fate of this app depends on this information making it to them somehow. The interface needs serious reworking and is a nightmare to use. The video player is incredibly frustrating and just doesn’t have the features other players have like skipping recap/intro, backtracking/fast forwarding by 10 seconds, or giving the option of going straight to the next episode without closing the player. In order to even begin competing on mobile these features need to be implemented or your competitors will always win because they ALL already have these features. When I turn the phone from landscape/portrait to portrait/landscape the buttons sometimes don’t adjust correctly and get hidden in the bezels of the phone making it possible to exit the player or really do anything without exiting and relaunching the app. This is an embarrassingly simple bug which should have been found very early on or fixed in a very early patch. Lastly, and frankly the most important and frustrating, is the provider login. Being a developer myself, I would completely scrap how this is made and start over. I don’t even know where to start so I’ll walk you through my experience: Let’s say I have Verizon. I go to “login” and tap Verizon. I’m brought to the Verizon login page, at which one of two things can happen. 1) the input boxes aren’t useable which forces me restart the app or 2) I can log in. Let’s assume I’m actually able to login, I am faced with either 1) being shown a “bag gateway”, 2) infinite loading screen which sometimes turns into a blank grey screen , or 3) it brings me to Verizon’s ssoauth page where I go through all of this again but with an additional fourth possibility where there’s the slim, and boy do I mean slim, chance of SOMETHING deciding to work and logging me in correctly. I reinstalled the app more times than necessary and encountered the same problems. Please, for the sake of your users, fix these things. It has gotten to the point where I can’t watch on my computer I’ll literally go to a site where I can the shows for free. A site that steals your shows has a better experience for its users than this app provides. iOS 13.5 iPhone 11 Pro

Downloads don’t play

I download things to watch so as not to experience slowness and buffering (which I often do), but they don’t play. Just endless twirling. I tried disconnecting from wifi, then it says I have to be on the internet to watch. What’s the point of it?

Keeps crashing!!! Won’t stay open to watch anything!

App keeps crashing ! Trying to watch a show! Every time I open app it closes itself out. Please fix ! I have the channel through my service provider, & won’t even let me log in!!

WORST ACCESS

Every other streaming service I use that is connected to my cable subscription (like HBO and STARZ) activates and stays activated without ANY issues. Not only does this app CONSTANTLY require me to sign in again, IT DOESN'T EVEN SEEM TO ACCESS MY CABLE SUBSCRIPTION BECAUSE IT CONSTANTLY TELLS ME I AM SIGNING IN WITH THE WRONG CREDENTIALS WHEN THIS IS NOT TRUE WHATSOEVER!!! This app is junk and tempts me to cancel Showtime entirely!!!
