Cannot connect

Vbf838

This is a great game. You don’t have to spend real money to advance. The only issue is from time to time you will get an error where it can’t connect to the server, check your internet connection. Even though everything else on my phone works fine. 5 stars when that is fixed Edited: Problem fixed. 5 stars

Not holding breath

The Phebus

For such a unique game such as this, the lack of customer support and updates are astounding. I really like this game but like many others I don’t think I will hold my breath waiting on a fix for something trivial, should be addressed and fixed already. This is the only game of its kind. It could be so much more. This might be goodbye. I have addressed concerns and issues that I know other people are having for over 5 or 6 months and nothing is fixed.

Abandoned by devs?

DDAM17

Game was great for a while but it’s basically broken for iOS players. For month the notifications have not been working and instead of a quick fix the devs only feed back is that they will fix it in next big update. Here’s a clue devs - for the type of game this is, the notifications are a must have.

Great initial game, marred by inaction

ThePirateSheep

I will say, shop heroes was my go-to game for a long time. There has been a shift as to how things were run at CloudCade though, and the game’s development suffered (and admitted by CC themselves). No updates in over 4 months, no updates in the foreseeable future. Don’t waste your time like I did

I used to love this game but now..

“Shop Heroes was a shop simulation game. The game is no longer being supported and the community is being suppressed and banned for voicing their opinions! You’ve been warned, either enjoy the time you have with the game for now or leave before you waste your time and money.” I played this game for two years and spent so much money and convinced so many others to play. Now it’s run by a horrible CM and hasn’t had a real update in well over a year. Don’t even bother playing because you can be banned at any time for any or no reason at all. Horrible company. Would not recommend to anyone.

Fun but grrr.

The game is really fun. It’s an interesting perspective on rpgs. I play with my wife and are enjoying do so together. However, I find that 100% I have an item break when a party comes back and it’s kind of frustrating. I get it. It’s only 3% chance on avg, to break. But why every time when my party comes back something has to break. Really discourages even outfitting them. Don’t want anything to break. Who knows maybe they are fighting rocks instead of living things.

Fun but don’t bother spending money on it

This is a decently fun game to play, doesn’t get boring easily, and tbh I will probably continue to play it, despite my complaints. This being said, here are my own main issues/advice on it: 1) I get that the game creators want to make some money, but sometimes it gets old—how much everything is stacked against you/so blatantly meant to drive you to buying more gems. Seriously, it’s like one of those ridiculous, obviously rigged carnival games, and it’s only gotten worse. Super high quality equipment, that takes days/weeks to craft if you’re making it yourself/not buying it, which can be fun and satisfying...except it somehow breaks regularly, despite having less than 1% chance of breaking. But don’t worry, you can spend an absurd amount of “gems” (mostly easily obtained with real dollars) to fix each one. I mean, I get they’re trying to push ppl into buying gems...but it’s too blatant/frustrating, so I can’t imagine that’s working well for them. Buy gems to open chests that might unlock blue prints to new items! ...key word being might. And the odds of that happening have clearly dropped even more recently, so that’s just a black hole to donate your gems to these days. 2) The price of most things in gems compared to gold is so skewed/off. Seriously, someone doing pricing does not have a concept of mildly reasonable currency conversion. And from the “wanting people to spend more gems/real money” point of view, it’s not very smart. Not like you’re getting a discount/even a remotely comparable price by paying for most things (city upgrades, etc) in gems vs gold (which you can earn fairly easily without real money). 3) This has actually gotten better lately, but the lag in the game gets bad sometimes. It can get real slow. So to sum up, still a fun game to play/there’s a lot to build on and a lot of levels/layers to it, and it can be even more entertaining if you join a city...but it could use some improvements. And until those improvements come, namely odds improving of getting blueprints from chests/actual good things from the daily wheel of prizes/not having heroes get wounded and equipment broken constantly, as well as the prices of things in gems coming way down...it is definitely not worth spending real money on. This being said, I hope the game does improve/survive, because I do really enjoy playing, and wouldn’t mind throwing a few dollars its way every once in a while...if it actually felt worth the money/less like I was being conned by the dude with the weighted darts at a carnival, trying to make you fork over all your tickets and keep buying more, just for the chance at getting that giant, polyester teddy bear that’s going to rip as soon as you pick it up anyways :-)

So far so good

Ada Ace

I was looking for a good game to spend time on with some friends that wasnt going to beg for too much time. So far this is perfect. I really like the concept of working with the same shared city to ultimately benefit your own shop. I will update my review as I get more time into the game!

Sun’s Getting Real Low

Prepare yourself for the worst community management you have ever experienced. Have a complaint you wish to bring up on the forums? Banned. Question the developers over in game chat? Banned. Vent to friends in the unofficial Shop Heroes Discord channel? Yeah you guessed it... But why do people complain you ask? Well Timmy, once upon a time this game had small updates on a near monthly basis and now, it’s been about a year since any form on “content” update. They always promise that new stuff is coming, but that day never arrives and the community managers respond as if we are crazy for bringing it up. That the team is hard at work and news is coming soon. Pure gaslighting. If you can ignore all of the above and like idle shop management games then this is the game for you. Just sit quietly, don’t speak up, or you risk losing your account forever. Many of the very top players, the ones who helped shape the community and made the guides and contributed to the spreadsheet are presently banned. They are amazing people who loved this game and it is a shame they are gone.
