Fun but don’t bother spending money on it – Shop Heroes: Trade Tycoon Review

This is a decently fun game to play, doesn’t get boring easily, and tbh I will probably continue to play it, despite my complaints. This being said, here are my own main issues/advice on it: 1) I get that the game creators want to make some money, but sometimes it gets old—how much everything is stacked against you/so blatantly meant to drive you to buying more gems. Seriously, it’s like one of those ridiculous, obviously rigged carnival games, and it’s only gotten worse. Super high quality equipment, that takes days/weeks to craft if you’re making it yourself/not buying it, which can be fun and satisfying...except it somehow breaks regularly, despite having less than 1% chance of breaking. But don’t worry, you can spend an absurd amount of “gems” (mostly easily obtained with real dollars) to fix each one. I mean, I get they’re trying to push ppl into buying gems...but it’s too blatant/frustrating, so I can’t imagine that’s working well for them. Buy gems to open chests that might unlock blue prints to new items! ...key word being might. And the odds of that happening have clearly dropped even more recently, so that’s just a black hole to donate your gems to these days. 2) The price of most things in gems compared to gold is so skewed/off. Seriously, someone doing pricing does not have a concept of mildly reasonable currency conversion. And from the “wanting people to spend more gems/real money” point of view, it’s not very smart. Not like you’re getting a discount/even a remotely comparable price by paying for most things (city upgrades, etc) in gems vs gold (which you can earn fairly easily without real money). 3) This has actually gotten better lately, but the lag in the game gets bad sometimes. It can get real slow. So to sum up, still a fun game to play/there’s a lot to build on and a lot of levels/layers to it, and it can be even more entertaining if you join a city...but it could use some improvements. And until those improvements come, namely odds improving of getting blueprints from chests/actual good things from the daily wheel of prizes/not having heroes get wounded and equipment broken constantly, as well as the prices of things in gems coming way down...it is definitely not worth spending real money on. This being said, I hope the game does improve/survive, because I do really enjoy playing, and wouldn’t mind throwing a few dollars its way every once in a while...if it actually felt worth the money/less like I was being conned by the dude with the weighted darts at a carnival, trying to make you fork over all your tickets and keep buying more, just for the chance at getting that giant, polyester teddy bear that’s going to rip as soon as you pick it up anyways :-)
