Don’t like it

shensler

I don’t like how you have to have your phone plugged into the USB of the car to have streaming maps. I found a way to load i phone maps on my car I going to use that app instead.

Sad

Toyota should be ashamed to provide this gps app to their customers, never works and is so antiquated you’d think the year was 1998. Not buying another Toyota again until this is addressed.

GPS

Honestly I don’t know where to begin about this app scout. If I could give it a 0 star I would. So I recently traveled home to TN state for Thanksgiving 2019. I put the address in the scout gps. Of course the service was weak, plus I have to turn the car off,& on, again serval times to try & get a connection. Call Toyota & they pretty much don’t care. So yes I strongly dislike the new way of gps. Anytime I want to use this app it’s a daily problem. Toyota needs to do a recall on all vehicles using this sorry app. Please if you care about your customers please update or fix this stupid app.

Scout GPS Link

Mr.rate_n_stuff

Went on vacation with family and rented a Toyota Sienna. Scout GPS was what we were supposed to use to get around and go places. I had to download two separate apps from the cars system. It said the phone would link up and it din’t. Never worked. You can’t even look at the app while driving. What’s the point of a GPS you can’t look at? Garbage.

Useless

Yole40

It does not navigate, it tells you, no visual info after 30 or less seconds. It shows you a map but does not show you in while you are moving. If you use google maps you will have much better results, at least you will be able to navigate on your cell and listen to the audio commands, too. So honestly I think this app is pointless

Prehistoric App!

YvoCanivo

So I use the app for GPS on my Toyota. The interface is horrible, like 90s. NO MAP! Not even 2D. Only turn by turn. It shows no lane. It shows no street before The next turn.... so you better know your “feet” “yard”. If you miss the turn it will tell you to make a U turn. Tanks. Lol. App is a joke. Used to have proper GPS on my previous car. They told me the Scott app is better than car-installed GPS. Really? If you like listening to good old fashion records instead of music on your phone, you might like the “nostalgic “ look of this app.

Difficult to Use

NM Driver

I get the idea of safety features, but the features severely limit its use. First, I keep my phone in my purse, which may be in the back seat or in the cargo area. Before you can use Scout, it prompts you to open the app on your phone. That completely takes away the hands-free purpose of safety features because my eyes are off the road, digging around for my phone then opening my phone, scrolling to find the app, then clicking on it. Way too much attention away from driving. Then on the flip side, when traveling with my husband and when the voice prompt can’t recognize the address you need to find, it won’t let a passenger enter it on the screen OR on the phone. These safety features make the app completely unusable unless you pull over (on a busy highway) and allow the app time to decide you are “safe” to enter data by hand... the same as you were safe to be reaching for your phone in the back seat while swerving on the road so that you can open the app and then request directions by voice.

I have been very pleased with this apt. Having used it many times ( senior citizen) I feel completely at ease driving in the larger cities. I always get to my destination without any problems.

Won’t connect to my gx460!

pokethekat

Absolutely horrible. Keeps saying my phone is not connected to my 2017 gx 460 . Even though my phone is connected to Bluetooth as I can have pay Spotify and it shows on my iPhone running the latest iOS that my phone is indeed connected to my car.

Works great

clueless in Pa

There are places I don’t go because of road changes and traffic, but this app took me there and back with no problem. I appreciate that.
