Scoot is the original shared electric vehicle company. The vehicles in our networks range from our original electric motor scooters to new electric bikes. We operate thousands of these light electric vehicles (LEVs) in San Francisco, Barcelona, and Santiago to drive towards a greener future.

Scoot’s mission is to reduce global carbon emissions and traffic congestion that consistently plagues cities. In San Francisco alone, our riders have (to date) prevented over five million pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.

Scoot currently operates in San Francisco, Barcelona, and Santiago. We plan to bring fast, affordable, fun transportation to more cities soon.

Use Scoot for:
— Joyrides with friends on weekends
— Commute to work or class
— Ride to BART, Muni, or Caltrain
— Action-packed date nights
— City tours with out of town friends
— Running errands

Notes:
— You must be at least 18 years old to use the Scoot app
— To operate a vehicle you’ll need to grant the app access to your GPS location while you ride
— To operate a vehicle in San Francisco you’ll need to verify your US driver’s license (no motorcycle license needed)
— To operate a motor scooter in San Francisco you’ll need to complete a safety lesson (video or in-person)
— Helmets are included

Can only drop off in garages now?!
Charsmegafauna

How horrible. Really ruins the usefulness of Scoot. If I have to leave it in a garage then there’s no point, as I still have to walk a mile. So disappointing.

Not made for short people

Construct your scoots to service more people!!!!! I can’t reach the ground!!! Make an adjustable seat or something!!!!!!

4 Star Service, 1 Star App
Pajdycbrks

I’ve been a loyal Scoot member for almost 3 years, and I have an unlimited membership. My only complaints are: 1. The new app is TERRIBLE. The kick scooters look too similar to the normal scooters on the map. The app takes forever to launch. I have to tap 8+ times to end a ride (2-3 rides per day on average). Can I opt out of those stupid animations?? I know how to park the scooter! 2. The garage near my home was closed without notice (not even mentioned in an email). They know who uses the same garage every day, and should notify those people if a garage is going to close. Please hire a new product manager for your app! It is...so bad.

Used to work
Cyril Noir

I’ve logged probably 300 miles on Scoot in SF. Used to work great, not anymore. I’ll use it again if they fix the issues!

Fraudulent Charges
Hjhgrrtyu

DO NOT USE: Scoot operates on a fraudulent business concept. They will charge you for damages you did not cause a few days after your ride. I got charged a couple hundred dollars for damages NOT done by me. A $2 joyride will suddenly turn into a $300 bill secretly charged to your account. Use other scooter services. There is a reason other scooter services have 5 stars while Scoot only has 2.5 stars.

QR Codes :(
Alessandro17

Stopped using the app because you need to use a QR code to activate the small kick scooters. You used to be able to reserve the scooter without being physically next to them. This basically makes the service useless to me, especially during commute times, where I don’t have the luxury of blowing 10 minutes walking to scooter that gets swiped by someone right before I get there. Disappointed:/

This is the single worst company ever, they will steal your money by the hundreds of dollars
BryceThayer

They took around $700 out of my bank account without warning, this company is criminal

Seriously?
ascot21

I hate the newest release. Why would you remove the ability to filter by Scoot type. I will never ever rent one of those kid scooters so just show me the mopeds. So hard to find them in this mess.

Harder and harder to use
pjf5ej

App has become amazingly cluttered by all the small standing scooters. Increasingly difficult to find what I’m looking for. There should a) be toggles for which kind of ride I am looking to take and b) have a “here’s the closest ones to you” option

Broken scooters, bad sign up flow
Mikebo123

It’s almost as if they don’t want you to ride their scooters. They make you jump through hoops to get on, then half of their scooters don’t work. Don’t expect this one to stick around
